REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Looking at the injury sheets, for starters, I see Lee and Claiborne out for Dallas, Maybe a few others on like a week to week. Eagles lost Mathis and Barbre (who?) and Lane Johnson to PED suspension .Falcons have lost Baker, Johnson, Holmes, and Hawley on the OL for the year, Witherspoon and Moore on the defensive side, and on a week to week lost Justin Blalock. THey;ve lost more than those 2 teams put together.

LOL.
Lawrence, Lee, Claiborne, Spencer, Carter, Holloman for the Boys.
Eagles lost Kelce and Mathis, and they're two of the best OL in the league. Lost Johnson to a suspension, and then his backup Barbre, too. So that's without 4 OL, or 3 to injury. Cute how you leave out a bunch of guys for the other teams, but be accurate.
The Falcons have played worse than the Cowboys and Eagles. The Eagles are once again incredibly lucky to be where they are with the way they've played, but the Falcons have been worse and their record shows it. 2-3. Use any excuse you want. 2-3. And they stunk last year so what's their record the last 21 games?

How 'bout them Cowboys though??
They looked a ton better than Houston all day but kept shooting themselves. Stepped up when they needed to though and got it together for the win.
So much for old man Romo and his back. Made Watt totally miss and made a huge throw. Watt also jumped the snap count, which DeMarcus Ware used to always get flagged for. And then Dez Bryant just isn't human with that OT catch.

Also, on that amazing Dez catch, Joseph didn't turn for the ball at all. Just straight up facing Dez and throwing his arms around. I guess only the Cowboys get flagged for that in that spot. Could have been huge.

I love how Zito thinks the players that the Falcons lose are all actually good players. TD is a horrible GM and has screwed up a team that has a damn good QB and a great great WR. Falcons have zero depth and that is why they continue to lose these games. That and they still suck in the front seven.

Every team absorbs big time injurie/suspensions. The really good teams bounce back from them. As I said in the beginning of the year the Falcons need another productive draft to get back to the playoffs and be serious contenders.

Imgaine what Zito would be saying if he were a 49er fan and had to deal with losing Bowman/Davis X2 / Brock / etc...

I thought that Jospeh played that well. He didn't really engage Dez until the ball was there. Then he has as much of a right to that ball as Dez does.

I totally disagree. The ball was not there yet when Joseph threw his arms up because Dez put his up. He couldn't even see the ball because he did not look. The Cowboys get flagged for that every time.

Right, there are huge problems with that team outside the injuries. They just aren't that great, even if they were healthy. Their defense would still stink, and they still can't run the ball. Bad combo.

I watched it again just now a few times. I don't believe he "engaged" Dez until the ball was there. Maybe I feel different if thats my team but I am trying to be as impartial as possible.

Sam Baker, Will Witherspoon, Justin Blalock and Will Moore are all good players. Sure Holmes and Johnson are more role players but that was their OT depth.

Falcons had issues, but they're also experiencing some heavy injuries. Are the Niners worse off? Probably. But that's not relevant to the Falcons. Niners have a luxury the Falcons don't. They sucked a long time to build up depth and still have a cheap QB. We'll see how things start shaking out for the Niners in the next few years when Kaepernick is getting paid.

Niners also do something thats called drafting well and making excellent signings/trades (Bethea/Johson so far).

Your GM sucks and that is why you are where you are. I expect him to be let go this year if the Falcons don't make the playoffs.

Also, the hope is that as Kap gets paid more he will be able to contribute more. I hope thats the case because he has been awful this year so far.
