Niners have sure drafted mightly well the last few years. Baalke drafted well when the Niners sucked and did the smart thing and traded down at times when he had that high pick and no real need.

Last 2 drafts, for the Niners have produced what exactly? Reid and Ward, Hyde, and who else? Falcons have 3 starters from their last 2 drafts (Trufant, Alford, and Matthews) one regular Toilolo and one who's been moved into a heavy role because of injureis Southward, and a rookie RB who's contributed about as much as Hyde has with Freeman. Falcons had some bad drafts of course. The 2012 draft was hot ****, Konz and Holmes came out of it and aren't much of anything, Massoquai took the longest amount of time to impact and is probably tops from that draft.

Better free agent signings, you may have a point. Falcons haven't had too much.

First to answer your question regarding guys drafted in the last two years that are contributing:

2013: Reid/Mcdonald/Dial/Lemonier

That doesn't even include Tank who isn't playing because of a numbers game but is a big time talent. Also, the 49ers didn't have room on their roster for Marcus Cooper and he is a starting DB for the Chiefs

2014: Ward/Hyde/Lynch/Ellington

The contributions of these players vary in terms of snap count and impact but all of these guys from the last two years are contributing.

Again, its not like I'm rooting against the Flacons. Someone like Ryan deserves a better team around him. Your GM just sucks and you need to move on.I also love how you started to make an argument that Baalke only drafted well because the teams sucked and yet you name Matthews as some great pick when it was at the top of the draft.
 
For any discussion, a guy that doesn't make your roster shouldn't be considered.... Especially if he was taken with a high pick and can't crack the roster.

Guys dont' make rosters for many reasons. On teams like the 49ers its because there are too many talented players in front of them and the team doesn't want to expose a player to the rest of the league and lose him for nothing.

For teams like the Falcons its because they can't play.

You can dislike this post and my general tone towards the Falcons all you want but you know this is true.

We are not deep. We do not have a ton of talent. Nothing of that is disputable...

We have 4 rookies playing meaningfull from the passed draft , not sure a decision can be made on it yet.

The whole OL has been hurt. Not sure who wouldn't struggle? The whole starting line !
 
I had to leave the house, so I didn't get to see the catch Dez Bryant made in overtime. That was just an awesome play. I don't know if Joseph interfered or not, and it doesn't matter to me if he did. Just a tremendous play by Dez. You have to consider him along with Julio Jones and Calvin Johnson among the best WRs in the NFL.
 
There was interference on that catch by Dez in overtime. Offensive pass interference is the only thing that should have been called. Not sure why people are trying to say Joseph interfered? Dallas won the game and yet they are still questioning the refs.

Uh, what? On the 37-yarder? How on earth was there interference on Dez? Joseph never turned for the ball and threw his arms up to try and stop it.
 
Also agree with thethe on the Falcons.

They have had bad draft after bad draft, and it's why their depth is awful.

TD cant hit on draft picks after the 1st round for the most part.

Baalke had a bad 2012 draft, but otherwise has been fantastic in SF.

Great trade for Stevie, Bethea looks like a very good signing, some low cost signings like Lloyd, Cox, Dorsey, etc.

Fair point on how they'll do once Kap's deal kicks in.

Dez pushed away to get separation. It doesn't really matter because a no call was the correct call anyway.
 
The Redskins win tonight if...

Their offense can put together sustained drives that end in touchdowns and not field goals. I expect Cousins to look much better tonight after his last outing. Ground game needs to show up big time to limit the amount of third and longs. Defense needs to somehow slow down Seattle. We all know the Redskins are stopping anyone in football this season on the defensive side of the ball, but if they can limit their mistakes they have a small chance to pull off the huge upset tonight.
 
Poor Kirk. He has no help out there again tonight. Three dropped passes already and two from the gang banger.
