REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Rumor is the Saints had no interest. Being innocent isn't enough for Payton, he wanted to release Galette based on proven false allegations.

There were a lot of teams that weren't interested in him for whatever reason; even after it became clear he wasn't at least directly involved.

There was a team in the top 10 who was gonna draft Collins before the we know what.

Eh?

@JasonPhilCole: Told that 26 teams inquired about signing La'el Collins.

"According to multiple NFL sources, LSU offensive lineman La'el Collins will receive interest from seven teams....Now, those seven teams that have expressed interest, aside from Buffalo and Miami ... you have Detroit, St. Louis, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New Orleans. Those five in addition to the initial two, again, Miami and Buffalo.

That's obviously an incomplete list considering the Cowboys were omitted. Also, the Falcons beat writer today reported that Dimitrioff inquired about Collins.

I think it's a pretty fair assumption there was a sizeable market for him.

Inquired and being interested in signing could be totally different things.

Semantics. You have to have an initial interest in order to inquire. Where that interest fades is an entirely different story, one of which neither of us would know at this point.

So there are at least 8 or 9 teams that were possibly interested.

Could be. But not likely. If you are inquiring about him, then you obviously have at least some interest in bringing him in. 3

I guess it's easier to keep arguing semantics than to admit you were wrong.

I posted a freakin quote.

I posted a freakin quote.

You're first statement was "There were a lot of teams that weren't interested in him for whatever reason; even after it became clear he wasn't at least directly involved."

The quote you posted didn't mention anything about other teams not being interested or that those were the only teams that showed some interest. And C2C's quote would prove otherwise.

First off, I hope they find the monster who killed this lady and her baby. That's the tragic thing out of this by far. Should be a double murder charge, if you ask me.

As far as La'el Collins goes, he's answered the questions of the police and if, and only if, nothing else comes out against him, I'm delighted he's a Dallas Cowboy. Saw a lot of LSU games and he is a top notch player. Not sure how much time he'll get this season, but likely is a long term replacement for Doug Free at RT. By far, the best O-Line for the Cowboys since the Super Bowl days of the 1990s.

LMAO come on carp, it's pretty obvious what he's doing. we all know there were like 26-27 teams interested. he's trying to make it seem like the Cowboys were one of few for some reason to try and discredit the magnitude/accomplishment of signing him. he knows what he's saying isn't true. Collins had his pick of a majority of teams in the league.

He's going to compete with Leary, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's slotted in as the starter by the end of the season.

I'm sure washington would have loved collins but he prob told them, early on, "lol no thanks."

also, not that this applies to collins, but i'm preeeetty sure the 'skins have more arrests than the cowboys since 2000.

Would have liked to have seen ATL take a serious run at him, but I am not sure he is the type of OL that Shanny likes for the ZBS. We need all the talent on the OL we can get.
