REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Always amazes me how NFL fans equate QB success to playoff wins like it's the only factor that plays in.

2008 - Lost to Arizona, who went to Super Bowl and nearly won. Ryan was a rookie that year. 26-40, 2-2.
2010 - Lost to Green Bay, who went on to win the Super Bowl. No one was beating Aaron Rodgers that night. It was one of the most dominant performances I've ever seen. 20-29, 1-2. Again, not very good, but we gave up 48 points. If he threw two more TDs, as long as he lost, people would still blame him.
2011 - He played pretty bad, and the whole team sucked against the Giants. Giants won Super Bowl. 24-41, 199. He didn't play well, but he's not the reason they lost.
2012 - Moved us downfield to help beat Seattle. Moved us downfield against the 49ers to give us a chance, and we got completely jipped on a pass interference non-call. (Always laugh at how 49er fans continued to complain about Seattle's secondary after that). We lost that NFC championship game because we had no pass rush and no clue how to defend Kap. 30-42, 396, 3-1

So, the Falcons are 1-4 in the playoffs since Ryan came up. And absolutely none of the losses have been his fault, other than maybe the Giants one partially.

Stills amazes me how fans try to justify no playoff success being alright.

I'm sorry. When a team wins a championship, is the QB the only one who gets a ring? No playoff success isn't alright, but I just demonstrated where our defense was responsible for at least two of those losses, including the NFC championship in 2012.

It's one of the most frustrating things about football fans. If by some miracle, this franchise actually won a Super Bowl, you guys would say, "BUT HE HASN'T WON TWO."

It's the same line of dumbass thinking that people use when comparing Lebron and Jordan based on number of championships their TEAMS won. With no context whatsoever.

Source says early estimate for Romo's absence is eight weeks.

Seems a touch long for a non-throwing arm injury. I know it's important to recover so it doesn't break again, but I'd imagine it should be healed in 4-6 and he shouldn't have issues throwing probably after 3. Seems like a mighty pessimistic recovery time table.

Yea, assuming this stands, the Cowboys are already gonna be two up on the Eagles and Giants. I don't think the Redskins will do much. Dallas has a pretty legit D this year.
