I thought the guaranteed money tended to stay with the originally signing team but I guess they might be able to work something out. It's still not a worthwhile risk for TN in my opinion. Of course maybe I"m wrong and everything will work out.
 
That's why I don't think the Bears trade him yet, trade him now and have a 19M cap hit, or suck it up and hope he regains some value and have like a 10 million cap savings.

Yeah, he should be in politics with that grasp of the truth. I said he shouldn't be suspended for the action, but I think he should be suspended just for that BS. That's Congressional worthy. That's political spin merchant worthy. That's OJ's legal team worthy... :roll:

I mean, he went to Nebraska, right? He obviously doesn't know what it's like to play in the cold.
 
I think Koetter has been pretty solid as an OC for the Falcons. I'd be fine with a very good, defensive-minded head coach. The Falcons defense is soft and a lot of the time quite embarrassing. And the injuries really don't have much to do with it.

Some of that is talent based which leads to the question, why is TD staying?

His drafts have stunk for the most part.

There is a reason the Falcons have the best vacancy available. There is a lot of really good pieces at the places hardest to find talent (QB, CB, LT). TD deserves some credit for having the foundation in place. The rest can be fixed rather easily.
 
Having good corners means nothing if your front 7 isn't producing. We should not have been in the position where losing Witherspoon pretty much folded our chances of being a good defense. That's on TD.

Having good CB's or a good CB (I do like Alford) means nothing if the QB has all day to throw. Falcons have arguably the worst pass rush in football.

And Matthews struggled as a rookie.

Julio/Ryan/White is pretty attractive though for head coaches.

They win the Packers game if they had any resembalance of a defense. If you score i think it was 37 in GB, you should win.

Ryan is good but you cant ask him to put up 30+ every week.

It sounds strange to say this because the Falcons have struggled for years to do it, but adding a pass rush is one of the easier things to do in football. TD has a lot to work to do, but the hard part is done.
