This isn't a choke.
This is a car that has been running on empty for 25 miles...
Yessir. 2013 Seattle team is one of the best in recent memory. No shame losing to them. That Broncos team likely wins it all in most other seasons.

Every report has Bowles has the overwhelming favorite.
But they also said the same about Rex... So ya know, grain of salt.
Guess Blank put an end to the McDaniels train.
Wonder if there is a rift between he and Dimitroff.
Well, I'm still ticked off about how things resulted in Green Bay, but what's done is done. Can't do anything about it. Even with that, there was obvious strides made by the Cowboys this season. A season of 12 wins and winning the NFC East is certainly things to be happy about. Now, how will the Cowboys follow things up? The last time they had a winning season, they followed that up with a flop (that was the year Wade Phillips was fired). Some thoughts about the Cowboys:
*Very pleased at the O-Line, after I had been screaming about it for years. Future is looking great with Smith, Frederick, and Martin. Main question is Doug Free's future.
*Contract issues for both Dez Bryant and DeMarco Murray. If only one can be kept, rather keep Bryant, but hopeful both will return.
*Can't complain about Romo's year either. Aside from the 49ers game and the Redskins game at Arlington, Romo had a very solid year. Still, he's not a youngster and at some point, the Cowboys will have to think about the future after Romo. Also, nobody can say that guy isn't tough.
.
*On the D-Line, saw glimpses of how good Tyrone Crawford and DeMarcus Lawrence can be. Jeremy Mincey was solid, especially down the stretch and into the playoffs. I don't expect Spencer to be back. Would like to see at least one, probably two lineman added in the draft.
*Loved what Rolando McClain brought to the team this year when healthy, but had trouble staying healthy late. Wouldn't mind bringing him back, but not for a lot of money. Bruce Carter finally showed some of his promise. He made progress. Justin Durant was good until he got hurt. Need a full season out of Sean Lee. As good as he is, he can't seem to escape injury.
If there is one part of this team that needs work, it's the secondary without a doubt. J.J. Wilcox is really the only guy who progressed this season. Church and Scandrick are okay, but not premier players. Claiborne missed much of the season with a knee injury and continues to look like a bust. 2015 is going to be make or break season for Claiborne in Dallas. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to see Carr sent away. He has not played up to his contract. Cornerback and safety are absolute must haves in the draft.
I think you got a career year out of most of the defense, and that probably won't be the case next year. The DL played out of their minds.
Agree on Wilcox. Kinda put some power back in the defensive secondary, missed some tackles in the open field, but not guaranteed tackles for anyone. Will be a good bit more than a solid regular back there with more time.
Not really. We were never able to get pressure. The defense mostly looked good because we were possessing the ball for so long on average. McClain, Tyrone Crawford, Wilcox, Scandrick, Hitchens, were all solid but unspectacular. Who exactly had a career year, outside of I suppose McClain? And that guy was a top 10 pick. Carr and Church were pretty bad, Mincey and Melton pretty average, Demarcus Lawrence barely played and only made an impact for 2 games, Spencer had a handful of good plays.
We had no pass rush all year. DE, CB, and S will be addressed this offseason. IF (huge if) Sean Lee can come back and have ONE healthy season, and McClain is healthy with Hitchens, I like our LBs. I don't see a lot of "career years."
As a whole, the defense played above what the talent level would suggest is what I meant. The DL was supposed to be brutal up front, and the LBs actually weren't totally terrible after Lee went down. The offseason expectation was another bottom rung D unit in Dallas.
Supposedly Manning played the last month of the season with a torn Quad. I guess that explains things.
