REAL FOOTBALL Thread

I'm not trying to make an argument that Cobb is a scrub. But a WR is very limited based on how good their QB is. Thats just the nature of football and why QB's get BY FAR the most money.

Using that argument...

WR's tend to get the 3rd most amount of money behind QB's and lineman.

How do you explain DJax last year with The Redskins QB situation? What about Josh Gordon a couple years back? Mike Evans.

Torrey is good. However he's a one trick pony. He's an expensive one-dimensional route runner. Yes he's a grest deep threat, but aside from that you really don't have to worry about much. He gets taken out of games far too often. His route tree is more like a shrub.

Cobb is better than Smith but the gap wouldn't look as big if Rodgers was throwing Smith the ball. That's definitely true. Smith is no scrub.

Good, one less DB for the Eagles to sign. We'll see if they continue to spend the money and what it gets them. They have a lot of things to address.

Yeah they do. It's just about to the point where don't need to move up to take Mariota because of the draft picks it would cost them.

Philly doesn't need Mariota. Quarterbacks flourish in that system. The thing that is going to hold them back and has twice already is their defense. Going all in for Mariota would be solving nothing. I don't think Chip is dumb.

Why pay someone more than they are worth when there production is gonna dip?

You do realize that trading Shady still came a 3.5 million in cap hit don't you? Now that they have signed Gore for 7.5 million, they are essentially spending the same amount of money on a RB now than they would have if they simply kept McCoy. And they are getting a much older and worse running back at that.

They aren't paying him $7.5 mil this year though, right? That's the guaranteed money over the first 2 years.
