REAL FOOTBALL Thread

I like the moves the Titans made to improve the offense. Mariotta has more weapons than the average high pick rookie QB does. Excited to see how Whiz can fit the offense to him. WR goup is deep with talent, but not on production. But still, a lot of quality depth. Tight ends are good. Fasano is a nice tight end to compliment Walker and we have good depth. OL is still a concern. Hopefully we get better play and guys stay healthy as depth is a big concern there.

Defense should be much, much improved. Safety position is thin, but we have to quality starting safeties in Griffin and Searcy. CB is much improved with solid depth. All starting CB's are actually starting quality, imo. LB core is finally a stength after years of mediocrity. Some health concerns, but our starters should be very good, providing they stay healthy. DL is still unimpressive outside of Casey. Maybe someone steps up there.

I think we've improved enough to win 6-7 games conservatively, considering our division is still weak.

Considering the Lions lost Suh and Fairly, they did a nice job of replacing them with Ngata and Walker.

Completely re-vamped the offensive line.

Hoping for some improvement from the offense, especially Ebron.

I'm cautiously optimistic.

For the 49ers it all depends on whether or not Kap can develop. Lots of talk about his new throwing motion but until he can read multiple progressions consistently and be less erratic in the pocket he is going to struggle. I think people are going to be surprised with the overall talent level of the team still despite all of the departures/retirements this past year. I would think 8-8 is a reasonable projectionfor the team.

Niners are quite good if Kaepernick is good. He's the key. THe team is now his. It lives and dies by him. Defense won't be as good as it was last year. It should be good especially assuming Bowman and Aldon Smith play all year. I think overall replacing Crabtree with Smith is good. Because Crabtree and Boldin were the same exact receiver.

I think the secondary absolutely has a chance to better than last year. Depending on how well Docket plays then I could see it overall being better because like you said they may get a full year out of Bowman and Smith who are arguably top 5 at their position. We have to see how Bowman recovers but we know thats his level of play prior to his injury. I think they still have excellent overal depth on the defensive line which is key.

I have no clue what we are going to be offensively. Lets hope the playbook opens up a bit. The prior staff was a little too old school with the playcalling.

Secondary will be the weakest spot of the team outside head coaching. It's Bethea and Reid when he isn't concussed. Brock was good in 2014. Got his contract albeit not a huge one, but he's been bad and hurt since then.

They are a joke. Nobody wants to be there anymore. I find it odd that only a select few of 49ers players are concerned about their career choice. If it was a league wide thing, that would make more sense. There is something very wrong with this organization.

Cleveland is trading a 7th-round pick in 2017 to San Francisco for three-time Pro Bowl punter Andy Lee, league sources told ESPN.

This new rookie punter has supposedly demolished the football in OTA's.

Not sure it makes sense to trade a HOF punter with still 5-10 years left in his career but it makes no sense to spend a fifth round pick on a punter and not play him. Hopefully Lee has plenty of time left.

OFFSEASON FLUFF AHEAD!

But when it pertains to Vic your gonna hafta endure it.

Falcons defensive coordinator Richard Smith compared Vic Beasley's "elite quickness" to Von Miller.

That's high praise for a rookie, though it's easy to see the similarities. Both players are lightning-quick off the line with freakish athleticism. Beasley has the highest ceiling of any pass-rusher in this year's draft class. Look for the 22-year-old to make an impact right away.

He actually should be. Guy has had I think 3 concussions in his first three season. The money he has made already should allow him to live a comfortable life.

Actually a reporter took what Reid said out of context. Not entirely sure what he said at this point.
