REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Vick and Kaep are nothing alike. Kaep has shown that he can actually accurately throw a football.

I just thought it was an amusing quotation.

Not comparing the two, just saying that people use that phrase all the time, and rarely does a player actually live up to that.

Nobody used those kinds of words with Vick because they all realized he sucked at being an actual QB. The new guys RG3/Kaep/Wilson can run like hell and can actually throw like a pocket passer.

Pretty much exactly what I said about him, Doubt he plays any meaningful games in the NFL. Wish I could say otherwise, but injuries like the ones he has had to both knees is basically a career killer.

The 49ers said this basically when they drafted him. They have no need for him this year. It was always a future need pick. He has done plenty of physical activities but no contact yet.

Yeah that isn't true at all.

Tons of people thought Vick was going to be one of the best ever. Hell I know for a fact Steve Young used to say that.

Yeah, I don't believe that is true. At least I can't find anything. I think everyone knew right away that Vick was a horribly inaccurate QB and his body type would prevent him from lasting a long time.

First the internet and now Twitter are ruining ESPN/Sportscenter. Used to be the only place to get your sports news and now with it so readily available, the folks at ESPN have to make up their own news in order for people to get interested. Very rarely do I turn it on ESPN/Sportscenter anymore, unless there is a game/documentary they are showing. I get most/all my highlights from MLB Network/BTN/NFL Network.

Watching the Falcon/Titan game and boy the Falcons are going to be in trouble if they can't keep Ryan up right. He isn't exactly the definition of a mobile QB.

No comment Zito on this? You have to be a little worried.

I didn't realize you expected a comment. Falcons OL could be a concern, left side is the same as last year though so as long as Baker is healthy I won't have too many fears about Ryan's blindside. As it is you have guys gelling in game situations for the first time so there will be a concern. When the real games start things will be different I'm sure.

That said I still don't want to face teams with strong defensive tackles. Thankfully the falcons won't have to face the Lions this year since McDonkeyKong Sug would probably murder Ryan, literally.

Lions are going to have a big year IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if they got to 10 wins. I could see Bush having a 1800+ all purpose yard year.

Also FWIW the Falcons never let up more than I believe 3 sacks in either of the 2 previous games. Only 1 in the Ravens game and most came with the backups in. Last week was the only time Ryan was sacked all season.

That was also the only game where the starters played significant minutes.

I'm not saying its going to doom the season. Just saying its an issue. I don't know what the depth situation is like either on your line if you sustain another injury.

Problem with them will be Stafford. He will make or break them depending on if he can be a great QB or just an averagish QB who throws a ton.
