Just discovered if the Saints make it the Superb Owl they will be the home team so they would use the home team locker room for the game. That would be fun.

Yeah I think the home/away conference alternates each year. I remember reading and hearing last year when the SB was here. Vikings fans were already crying about possibly having to use the visiting locker room for a game played on their field. Like the AFC opponent owed them that luxury.

The bigger issue I think would be if they win they would be celebrating in the Falcons home locker room. Being a Braves fan I dont really have any hate for the Falcons but that would be the ultimate disgrace.

Anyone still trying to defend the officials not purposely ensuring Dallas wins?

Did you actually watch the whole game to see all the bad calls or are you just channeling Stephen A. ?

For clarity, I did not catch the first 5 minutes or so of the game but I understand that was a bad call against Philthy, and I know for a fact the phantom offensive pass interference against their TE was an absolutely horrible call, one of the worse I've ever seen, but there were lots of others and I was just wondering if you were going to cover both sides?

I watched none of the game. Two biggest calls I know of favored Dallas in a highly contested game. I heard the officiating was terrible all around yesterday though.

Well you're 100% right about that. Did they also tell you that Philadelphia went down and scored later on that same drive after that horrible offensive pass interference call? They got the points anyway and took time off the clock that influenced Dallas' play calling choices on their last drive of regulation.

I think the Chargers won that game just as much as the Chiefs choked. They battled all night long and without their top WR for most of this one. That defense is very good too. They never gave up that huge play either. They just played solid scheme wise and eventually got pressure on Mahomes in the second half. The offense did what you need to do in order to slow down a great offense on the other side. Time controlling drives that were balanced. The Chargers are a force.

They need to fix that fumble for a touchback rule. It’s never made sense to award the defense possession of the ball.

Its fine imo. Hold on to the ball near the goaline. Too many players want to 1 hand the ball over the pylon. Maybe dont give the ball to an UDFA.

Saints player tried to stretch the ball into the end zone. Ball was knocked out and fumbled out of the end zone. Panthers got possession because it was a touchback.

So I'm assuming no Panthers player touched the ball when it went into endzone and out of bounds post-fumble?

If that's the case, then why are you against the rule out of curiosity? If the ball is fumbled whether the defense causes it or sloppy play by the offensive player, why should the offense get the ball back? Seems like a touchback is the most "neutral" decision here. Perhaps you can have the offense do a free punt like after a safety. But I mean, I feel like giving the ball back to the offensive player after they took the risk in trying to stretch the ball, is rewarding careless play.

Yep. I mean how would you even play it any other way? There isn't another way that makes sense.

And awarding possession to the defense makes no sense. In order to possess the ball you actually ya know need to possess the ball at some point.
