REAL FOOTBALL Thread

I don't understand why the announcers are so pro Falcons in this game. They're 2-8 and no chance to go to the playoffs.

If a Falcons player did that **** to Brees it would have been at least a flag and perhaps an ejection. A punch to the face and a grab of the face mask on Ryan goes completely ignored.

Nah, Saints/Falcons games are always close regardless of records.

Good rivalry even though the Saints pretty much own the Falcons lol.

Thanks for stating the obvious, lol. I'm well aware of how close the game always are. Falcons are so godawful, but at least they're doing their job of losing.

Saints played a very physical team in the 49'ers only 4 days ago and they were without Sproles this game too. Saints tend to play down to their opponent. Falcons arent a bad team just having a bad year. Like the Saints last year when they went 7-9 but were still capable of beating the Falcons when they were the last unbeaten team. The Saints dont play with any urgency when they are up in a game, if the Falcons scored 30+ then the Saints would have scored more than because they needed to.

Falcons are injured, but they are terrible, no beating around the bush. No offensive line whatsoever, and the DBs have been beyond clueless. That extends way back though.

So Rob Ryan's defenses the last couple of years in Dallas were horrible. He goes to a team who actually had a worse defense in New Orleans. Yet, the Saints defense has turned just about completely around from last season. Just goes to show you what happens when you work for an organization which knows how to get good players and a work with a coach who actually knows what he's doing.

Imagine that!

owboys D wasnt that bad with Rob, just had a ton of injuries.

Always thought he got a bad rap with the Cowboys.

And yes, insanely dumb to get rid of him.

The problem last year on D was that the defensive coordinator was incompetent. He blamed the players for not being good enough to run his system. To me if you take a job as defensive coordinator and one year in you say the players arent good enough then you have to be a moron to have taken the job in the first place. Right now the Saints D is ranked top 5 from worst D ever. Even Greg Williams did better job just by blitzing 12 men every play.

Ryan vs Saints 76.9 comp% and 7.49 Y/A

Kaepernick vs Saints 54.8 comp% 4.10 Y/A

Happy thethe Ryan proved my point, great QBs can make a game happen.

The Saints secondary gives up plenty of completions but not that many big plays. The Dbacks tackle well. Today the Falcons D missed a bunch of tackles.
