REAL FOOTBALL Thread

This sets up a potential first round matchup of Packers/Niners. Wow, in GB with Rodgers back that could be the game of the playoffs.

I saw the GB/SF thing coming a few weeks ago and figured it would probably end up happening. Which sucks because not only are you guys a terrible matchup for us, but I NEVER hear the end of it from Niners fans. It's brutal lol

I don't care how well we have played you the last few times I don't look forward to any matchup against Rodgers who in my mind is the greatest QB of all time. Best of luck to you! Its going to be a lot of fun.

Cowboys still not ruling out Romo for Sunday's game against the Eagles. So far though, not seeing anything that makes me believe he'll play. If Romo can't play, Demarco Murray has to have a minimum 25 carries Sunday night. Reasons are to take some pressure off Orton and also to try and keep the Philly offense on the sidelines.

This back injury is not only a concern to me for this game, but for his future. I've never had a herniated disk, and I hope I never do. But, I've heard they are nothing to mess around with. Even though there are bigger needs, Dallas needs to think about drafting a QB, perhaps as early as the 3rd round. Need to start thinking about life after Tony Romo. If A.J. McCarron or Zach Mettenberger, or someone like that is available in the 3rd, Dallas may need to pull the trigger.

If Romo plays Sunday he's a total moron. He has herniated discs. Get the surgery done tomorrow and get on your way to 2014. Even if he goes out there tomorrow and they win then he has to play with a bad back the following week. Samething I said about RG3 last year. Get him on the table so he can get back to playing football next year.

No it's not! I'm sure I'll be watching the entire thing through my fingers...

Have to agree. That is an injury you don't need to fool around with. I don't care how big the game is, health comes first.

Very cool. Ran a few simulators for the Cowboys. Here was a favorite one of them:

Round 1: Stephon Tuitt (DE/Notre Dame)
Round 2: Ra'Shede Hageman (DT/Minnesota)
Round 3: Craig Loston (S/LSU)
Round 4: Aaron Murray (QB/Georgia)
Round 5: Chris Burnette (OG/Georgia)
Round 6: Denicos Allen (OLB/Michigan State)
Round 7: LaDarius Perkins (RB/Mississippi State)
Round 7: Jay Bromley (DT/Syracuse)

Seen some things that said Randall Cobb will play as well. Going to be a long day for the Bears defense, I think

Saw the same too, wouldnt wanna play them if Cobb is healthy.

Another playmaker to go with the ones they got, welp.

Im not sure if GB/SF would be the matchup of the playoffs but for the 1st round, you cant ask for a better matchup if it happened.

Hey CC, here's my first effort. I have to admit at this point I haven't really watched any of these guys play enough to know if they're any good or not. I hope to get to watch some film on them later on.

You're addressing that defensive line, which is exactly what they need to do after failing to do so in the last draft. That's good.

It bothered me not addressing the O-line sooner than the 7th round, but I just couldn't resist all those (hopefully) good DLs early on and it seems like I heard that Breslin was a good pass rusher which I also feel like we desperately need.

I suppose my biggest challenge was trying to figure out which TE to pick in the 2nd round.
