What a horribly called game by the Saints. Across the board Payton has struggled. Seattle with a chance to drive the stake in here with any score.

Shouldn't be. He was playing the ball, not impeding Graham's ability to make the catch. A DPI would have been a travesty call and would have secured my belief that the NFL has a boner for Brees/Payton.

Thomas hit Graham well before the call got there. That's the definition of interference.

Payton doesn't have a choice here. He has to challenge the catch. Not getting overturned though. Nothing on the replay is enough for the refs to change their minds.

No it isn't. You need to brush up on your rules before squaring up with me

From the NFL rule digest

(a) Contact by a defender who is not playing the ball and such contact restricts the receiver’s opportunity to make the catch.

The whole idea of DPI is that you're stoping a receiver from amking a play. Thomas touching Graham didn't impede Graham's ability to make the play. Thomas's body was in front of Graham's or they arrived at the same time, neither of them are fouls.

probably would have been smart to just fall down after first down, but game is over

Yeah, but you never think fo those things in game. And honesly it's the smarter thing to do with that much time on the clock. If he goes down and Seattle turns it over they're boned. If it was a little later like just after 2 minutes then you can kneel it out or kneel and kick.

Missed block in the back by Kearse on that touchdown run. Doesn't matter, but it's par for the course. Saints got beat because of piss poor offensive play. The stripes did what they could to make sure Seattle wasn't going to lose. Even if the game was called straight up New Orleans wasn't going to win.

I have. As I watched it, it happened just like that. Kind of hard to hit from behind when you're next to the guy. We'll hopefully have more coming out of the game on angles of it, but as I watched the replay total right call. Thomas looked like he had his hands on the ball before he hit Graham.

Good win for Seattle, but Payton called an awful game today.

Too many runs.

Defense held up about as well as you could ask.

The runs aren't so bad. Going for it on 4th down in the first half when you had a Fieldgoal is moronic.

Saints with the TD, now they need the onsides and a 2 pointer.
