REAL FOOTBALL Thread

PFT is reporting SF had a deal in place to trade Harbaugh to the Browns and left it up to Jim to decide.

SF was dumb to let him decide. They could have let him go and then signed any of the cream of the crop coaches who're sitting for a job. Cowher, etc.

Is this really a good idea for SF?? How is this going to make Harbaugh feel about his job security there? Personally I think banishing his arrogant whiny arse to Cleveland would be poetic justice, but I'm a little surprised more SF fans aren't up in arms about this.

I think we just don't get whats going on. There must be some stuff going on behind closed doors that no one knows about.

I'd rather have Harbaugh than any other coach out there not named Belichick.

I think most Forty-Whiner fans feel that way, so why does management "seem" to feel otherwise?? It's not like there's an Andrew Luck sitting up there at the top of the draft for the taking this year. This is the worst year in several to be close to the top, there's quite a bit of talent but I don't see any future hall of famers up there, do you? So was this just something cooked up by the Browns or is SF management tiring of Harbaugh for some reason. Yes, I thoroughly dislike the guy, but I do recognize he is a really good coach who would be out of work, maybe 15 seconds if they got rid of him. So. what is SF management not telling about this whole thing?

Harbaugh isn't a special coach. You can do way worse than him of course (see basically every Niners coach in the last decade) if some team offers you several picks, and they're good for him, you have to consider it. Odds are that you can find someone who's just as good and as a team who's been to what 3 straight NFCCG, you'll have people banging down your door to get the job (though not having a real QB may hurt them)

I love harbaugh but if I had to pick between baalke and harbaugh I'd take baalke. Harbaughs a great coach. The team is going to miss him but you can't have conflicting views in your organization between the GM and coach. I will be sad to see him go but if we get a bunch of picks it will lessen the blow.

I'd actually hire mangini right away since he is a special advisor for.the team. He got a raw deal as a coach so far.

York can't say it was true....

Multiple big time "insiders" are saying they heard the same thing....Cowherd said he had NFL people Harbaugh has already worn out his welcome in SF. Smoke.....fire.....

Now now "B" Niners has said there's nothing to see here and that we should just move on. I mean after all, Forty-Whiner management has no reason to lie about this, except for saving face, spin control, keeping the fan base from rising up, keeping their prima dona HC from humiliation and pretty much casting doubt and aspersion on their entire program and everything they're trying to accomplish for next season.

This is the dumbest thing anyone has ever said in the history of the world.

I noticed the combine has been on NFL Network the past couple of days. Anyone actually sit down and watch this?

Well shoot. Colin Cowerd is definitely in the know. His word is the real deal. Especially when it comes to the NFL.

Seriously get the ef out if here with that crap.
