REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Davis signed a 5/37 deal last time around. Meaning he barely makes more per year than Jared COok, Zach Miller or Marcedes Lewis. Gronk signed a 6/54 and Graham will likely destroy that number. Davis is gonna get paid. Even if he doesn't want a raise, you still have to fit 7M into the budget, that's not easy.

If all he wants is 7M for his production then it is easy especially with the raising of the cap. I'll be interested to see what Boldin took to stay because he has become the big influence in the room.

Why does everyone keep forgetting Vernon Davis? He's gonna get paid. And he's not a FA at the end of this year but he is after next year, which fits that 2 year window.

TE money is pretty low, so we're maybe talking an increase to 7-8 mil which is a 1-2 mil increase over his latest deal, with the higher cap, not a huge deal.

Do you even do the minimal amount of research? He makes 7.35M per year now. That was top of the market when he signed. Now Gronk signed a 6/54 (9 per year) and Graham will crush that most likely to 11-12.

I don't think Davis will go as high as Graham (not as young not as amazing) but I think around what Gronk signed isn't out of the question. Maybe a little lower with more guaranteed like 6/49 with 22 guaranteed. Maybe Vernon signs for a little bit of a deal, but he's making at least 8M per year. Which doesn't sound like a ton, but look at the Niners cap situation in 2013, and you see only one player over 8M in cap hit, Vernon Davis. Next year you have for sure Patrick Willis and Ahmad Brooks over that 8M part, then you almost have to guarantee Kaepernick adn Crabtree. In 2016 (Davis's FA year) those 2 and Bowman are over 8M. Assume Kaepernick around at least 18M per year and Crabtree at least 12M so you're looking at about 86M tied into 17 players.

I could see them trade/cut Brooks by then, Lemonier could replace him or another draft pick.

Crab at 12M, what?!?!

It will be interesting to see what Kap gets, i saw the floor for a deal is 15-16 mil a year.

Funny how BRule says SF has a 2-yr window yet Seattle has it far worse in a couple years.

And most of the guys Zeets mentioned are replaceable outside of Kap/Aldon/Crab, maybe Boone if they lose Iupati but they can grab a G in the 2nd or 3rd to groom behind him.

No response to that, how fitting.

Seattle already won their SB. I don't see how what they do matters all that much now. But they have a much better QB and better coaching.

Harvin, Wallace, Bowe, Mashall, and V-Jax all signed from 11-13M Fitz and Megaton make around 16M

What do you think he'll sign for ?

As far as Brooks, they can cut him, but they may not. Who knows. THat's only one

Why do you assume he is going to get paid? He has gotten plenty of money and might want to stay in a comfortable situation.

And that happens how often in the NFL? So alll of your star players are going to take discounts b/c they are "comfortable?" GTFO!!

Yeah no way Crab makes any less than 10 mill per yr. WR's get paid.

Especially considering NFL contracts aren't guaranteed. It's even less likely to happen.
Not sure where you're getting this stuff reub.

QB is very debateable.

Coaching, they probably do though.

Crab: 8-10.

Yup. Players take some deals but even Brady's team friendly deal was really expensive. NFL players only take deals on a per yet with a higher guarantee.

Debateable????

Wilson has won the most games of any QB in history in his first 2 yrs and has the highest QB rating in history for his first 2 yrs. And has a SB ring. And he's done all this with significantly less talent at the skill positions than Kaep has.

There is zero debate about who is better and it is not even remotely close.
