REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Sweet - I hope all the other teams are sleeping on the niners too.

Going to romp through the NFC.

Niners concerns are numerous. First they are likely to have to climb through the wild card. Which isn't impossible but generally speaking playoffs favor the top seeds. When the top teams have Brady, Rodgers, Stafford, and Dak, they're already favored regardless of the teams aroudn them. Niners are a good team, they belong in the playoffs, they have a strong offense and good defense. That can go a long way but they'll have to win a bunch on the road. They also have 2 really tough games to finish it out and it's not unreasable they could miss the playoffs as the Eagles have a relatively easy path to the finals sans their game against Dallas at the end, Saints have a pretty easy finish, Minnesota has a tough one. It's not out of the realm of possibility the Eagles and Saints win out from here and if they do the Niners need 2 wins vs. @Ten and @LAR. They should easily beat the TExans at home. Texans are a joke.

Don't count the Niners in just yet I guess is my point. And getting in there they'll have the biggest up hill battle of almost any team. Because you're likely to have to go through first Tampa, then have to go to Green Bay.

Think you're sleeping on the defense. Bosa is playing like the best defensive player in football. He literally wrecks games on his own even with double/triple teams.

If our safeties are healthy we have a top defense as well IMO and now mitchell coming back our offense is ****ing stout. There isn't a weak point at all on the two units.

Problem is our special teams may bite us in a big spot.

The way I've always seen football is a battle of the trenches. No team in football has a better combined offensive and defensive lines.

Linewarfare isn't really a radical concept. It's how guys like Belichick and Reid have built their teams for 20 years. Strong lines and stellar QBs.

Niners have a good OL, but it's not the Cowboys or Bucs level. I think you're probably right about defensive line. I really like the Bucs DL still, but they don't have a stand out star like Bosa. They're more of a total unit.

I'm not going to pretend to know the specifics of those teams line play. I just know what I see when I watch the niners and that is domination on both lines...ESPECIALLY as the season has progressed.

I just love where the team is right now and Jimmy G is playing his best football. Getting contributions from guys like Jennings to take the pressure off of the other receivers and Wilson is the best backup RB in the league (sans Hunt in Cleveland).

Just a lot of talent and if you look at how they've lost some games this year and some head scratchers the record should be much better (Every team can do this I know).

Niners were best team in football two years ago. Decimated by injuries last year. Now just continuing where they were at the end of 2019.

Man I think there won't be a worse tenure of an NFL coach than Urban Meyer.

Results are one thing, being out coached is one thing. Coaching in a losing environment is hard. I get it. But kicking your players and asking your assistants to defend their resume. Lolllll

Are the Saints any good this year?

Honestly haven't been paying attention at all.

They were when we had Jameis. Now we are on 12th string QB Ian Book. We are one injury away from Kamara starting. Winston wasnt putting up big stays but he had unquestionably the worst WR group in the NFL to throw to. Defense is good when not facing a mobile QB.

Titans could potentially get back Henry in the next 2 weeks. If he's fully healthy, this is a dangerous team.

Really wish Julio could get healed up completely. He isn't offering very much playing at 75%.

Niners losing yesterday wasn't ideal but hardly the deal breaker. I wouldn't want to go into the last 2 weeks level with Philly and New Orleans.

Here's what I think I want for Atlanta. Draft Malik Willis. He spends a year learning under Ryan. Ryan then is traded away to somewhere hopefully he can win it all.

Alternative plan to this, is Falcons trade Ryan right away, sign a Veteran QB to do the same thing as Ryan. Maybe go with a more mobile QB like Winston, Taylor, Bridgewater, etc. or go with the Ultimate Vet in someone like Fitzpatrick.

Falcons won anyway. Such a shame. Still with the Bills and Saints left, they should expect a pair of losses that should aid in their draft pick chase.

Matt Ryan running in a TD to make it a one score game against the Bills, then getting called for taunting only to have the score overturned and the ball marked short making the 15 yard penalty huge is about the most Falcons thing ever.

At least they helped their draft position.

Ultimately that's the most important thing

Also that's the most ticky-tack taunting

The taunting was weak and saying he was giving himself up was a bit much as well. He was diving head first into the end zone. He even took a hit doing so (which might have been a late hit if he was giving himself up).
