Republican voter suppression...

This example you gave for suppression reminds me of the example you gave for minorities getting worse treatment from cops because they are referred to as dude.

If you have to apply for an absentee ballot more often, that is about as good an example of making voting more difficult as could be found. For most people it makes no difference. For the busy and absent-minded it might. The funny thing is the Republicans have done a better job on mail ballots over the years and it has helped them win a bunch of close elections.

I'm sure the psychology textbooks have reference to a condition where someone harms themselves trying to please someone else. That's what we have here.

Nsacpi is hopeless... he's essentially part of the pedo project where everything in existence has to be twisted into his narrative.

Lol voter suppression! Jim crow!!!!

This is absolute madness that you think asking a voter to request a ballot at any interval is restrictive. Your soul is corrupted right now. I sincerely hope everything is well and that you figure out how to get back to the rational person you were BT.

How republicans won elections in the past is irrelevant. It’s a completely new party that appeals to a very different and much more diverse coalition.

Not only are GOP lawmakers reversing statutes that their own predecessors put in place, but they are also curtailing a practice that millions of state Republicans use, despite former president Donald Trump’s relentless and baseless claims that it invites fraud.

Even as Democrats and voting rights advocates accuse the proponents of Senate Bill 90 of attempting to suppress the votes of people of color, these Republicans say their own political fortunes are in peril, too.

The potential fallout in the key swing state illustrates how the Republican Party is hurting itself in its rush to echo Trump’s false allegations, they said.

“Donald Trump attempted to ruin a perfectly safe and trusted method of voting,” said one longtime Republican consultant in the state who spoke on the condition of anonymity to offer a candid assessment.

Senate Bill 90 requires voters to reapply for mail ballots every two-year election cycle, rather than every two cycles — or four years — as current law allows.

Over the ensuing decades, GOP voters in Florida became so comfortable with casting ballots by mail that in 2020, nearly 35 percent of those who turned out did so

Seriously, 2020 is the year they use to benchmark this?

despite former president Donald Trump’s relentless and baseless claims that it invites fraud.

Was it WaPo or NYT that did an indepth article on how ripe absentee ballots were for fraud? Before Republicans took that view I mean. I have trouble keeping the different propaganda outlets straight.

Senate Bill 90 requires voters to reapply for mail ballots every two-year election cycle, rather than every two cycles — or four years — as current law allows. The legislation prohibits mobile drop boxes, and it requires local election supervisors to staff all drop boxes and to allow ballots to be dropped in them only during early-voting hours. Supervisors who leave a drop box accessible outside those hours are subject to a civil penalty of $25,000.

The state’s association of county election supervisors opposed the measure, which also limits who may turn in a voter’s ballot, allowing only certain family members to do so or limiting individuals to turning in the ballots of just two nonfamily members.

How dare they, I guess?

You literally can’t make up more fake outrage.

You really have to wonder why one side is so against any election reform. It’s almost as if they know something was fishy with voter rolls that were never cleansed and things like consent decrees that made it easy to committ fraud.

It is weird the intensity of opposition to ANY voter verification.

I wasn't one who called them cheaters all the time but the constant crying against any type of election integrity is starting to make me think otherwise

The hyperventilating to the maricopa forensic audit has been eye opening. They know the canvassing will lead to P.O. Boxes and empty parking lots as well as illegals and dead people. This is why the Biden DOJ is coming down hard. If the audit goes through Biden’s legitimacy is done for.

If the media is uniformly telling you that voter fraud isn’t real then that’s all you should have to know.

We aren’t going to glance over that voting suppression is now having to request a ballot every 2 years are we?

How can we live with such tyranny!

I'm not outraged. I'm bemused that Florida Republicans are introducing these changes to a system that has generally worked very well, and helped Republicans in particular to win a bunch of close elections.

For fake outrage, I would consult people like Lin Wood, Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Mr. Pillow and very poorly chosen one.

Jesus - IF all you see is race then thats on you and not on Americans that are fighting for fair elections.

Nothing more annoying than a white person who preaches solely about race.

Person quotes Jim Crow era laws

“Why do you see race in everything!?!?”

Y’all really are special Lol
