Rome Braves 8/24 (Kyle Wright)

I’m not holding my breath but if we had 2022 Kyle Wright and this version of Morton, then that playoff rotation is looking awfully strong.

Somehow having Wright back would be tremendous

Wright coming back allows us to keep Soroka down longer and get that extra year of control.

I don't expect much from him. Playoff Rotation appears to be Fried-Strider and Morton/Elder battling it out for Game 3 on the road. Morton if he continues his good work will be a lock just because of experience and strikeouts.

In the LCS, though it could get interesting. Wright or Elder for a Game 4. If Wright has a strong September he will be fresher. Elder could be gassed pitching a full MLB season.

If nothing else, hopefully Wright can be built up to where he can be the bridge guy between Morton and the big dogs in the pen in a playoff game if Morton is iffy and walking/hitting people all over the place.

Here comes Mr. October…. And another reminder that AA just might know some things about when to spend our precious few farm pieces for rentals at the deadline ….

From Kris Willis- re: the velo:

“The only hit he allowed was a comebacker to the mound that deflected off his glove. His fastball was sitting in the 92-93 mph range, but he looked free and easy on the mound and his breaking ball looked sharp.”

If his fastball velo doesn't get back up to 96-97, I want no part of him in the October rotation, because he's going to get shelled throwing 92-93 with his stuff. These were A-ball hitters he was facing.
