Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

Priebus demonstrated no ability to keep Trump from talking to anyone who wanted his ear. The president-elect enjoyed being courted. On December 14, a high-level delegation from Silicon Valley came to Trump Tower to meet him. Later that afternoon, according to a source privy to details of the conversation, Trump called Rupert Murdoch, who asked him how the meeting had gone.

“Oh, great, just great,” said Trump. “These guys really need my help. Obama was not very favorable to them, too much regulation. This is really an opportunity for me to help them.”

“Donald,” said Murdoch, “for eight years these guys had Obama in their pocket. They practically ran the administration. They don’t need your help.”

“Take this H-1B visa issue. They really need these H-1B visas.”

Murdoch suggested that taking a liberal approach to H-1B visas, which open America’s doors to select immigrants, might be hard to square with his promises to build a wall and close the borders. But Trump seemed unconcerned, assuring Murdoch, “We’ll figure it out.”

“What a ****ing idiot,” said Murdoch, shrugging, as he got off the phone.

“Bolton’s mustache is a problem,” snorted Bannon. “Trump doesn’t think he looks the part. You know Bolton is an acquired taste.”

“Well, he got in trouble because he got in a fight in a hotel one night and chased some woman.”

“If I told Trump that,” Bannon said slyly, “he might have the job.”

“What has he gotten himself into with the Russians?” pressed Ailes.

“Mostly,” said Bannon, “he went to Russia and he thought he was going to meet Putin. But Putin couldn’t give a **** about him. So he’s kept trying.”

Exoneration!!!

Allow me to double down and repeat my claim that the Germans are in possession of some extremely derogatory information about our president.

Unless Trump is caught with a live boy or a dead girl in his bed it wont matter. We all have derogatory information about Trump. None of it has really hurt him so far.

I think a lot of that stuff (coming from Bannon) can be taken with a grain of salt, but the fact that so many people are willing to put a shiv in the boss's back is noteworthy.

The excerpts that struck me the most were the one where Priebus described his first meeting with Trump as Trump talking the whole time and repeating himself constantly, and Katie Walsh asking Kushner (in March) what their three top strategic goals were and him saying "yeah, we should get on that."

Bannon uses the most bizarre turns of phrase. I don't really understand what he's talking about half the time.

who voted for this guy ?

That is the problem

Trump is a symptom

4 years ago, the black liberal president won re-election resoundingly.

4 years later, votes swayed very far away from those policies which were very popular two consecutive elections.

When we get someone lile Trump, perhaps the left should look in the mirror when assigning blame and identifying the problem

Also, who really gives a **** what Rupert Murdoch thinks?

His ex-wife cheated on him with Tony Blair, for crying out loud.

It is funny all of this conversation not being in The Trump Presidency thread but Russian Collusion thread.

Telling, because the article posted has to do with palace intrigue.

Trump didn't literally commit treason. But there's evidence he was involved in a criminal conspiracy with a foreign government to disseminate stolen information in exchange for lifting sanctions. Maybe they thought they wouldn't win, but they were sure set up if they did.

neuroscience will someday help us better understand guys like Trump and Bannon...probably has something to do with how dopamine circulates in their brains

i thought of posting there...but better to keep the discussion going in one place...if there is a crime it will be conspiracy...collusion is one of those vague words that has been held up for some people's convenience...conspiracy has more legal meaning...and if no crime quid pro quo is a more accurate term for describing what happened
