Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

One sign the memo release is failing as a political matter —

on the night of its release, Nunes on Fox promising

another memo instead of discussing this one.

We will have to wait a couple days for thethe to tell us the newest

You are certainly welcome to send back to the treasury

I was actually thinking of buying a bottle of water every other day with this latest windfall.

Forget the number I posted earlier $34,000 per day Trump will save
Hmmh

Man, these guys got you buffaloed

Unlike you and the left, I do not care if other people are doing better than me. My only concern is bettering myself.

I'd hate to live my life in constant jealousy of others like the left obsesses about.

Are we still on track for the Trump impeachment, though? 167 pages in I assume we're close

Well considering his hacks in the House don't have the balls to get it over to the Senate, I'd say probably not on track. If it does get to that point, it'll be after the Democrats have taken Congress in November (if they do, a big if). So we're talking at least a year. You might just have to sit through another couple hundred pages.

He also said he didn't read the underlying materials.

Damn that's painful.

Who knows maybe Putin will hack in to the election machines again to make sure the Rs win in November

Kidding aside

I don't think there will be an impeachment of Trump.
Pelosi is on record of being against impeachment and if history is a guide, Obama's first proclamation after being elected was he would not pursue criminality against Bush43 and Cheney over the illegal invasion of Iraq. Which both, to this day, are banned from a number of Western countries for fear of charges.

My guess is a castrated badly weakened , no authority Trump.
Which (like Chris Christie) would be a worse punishment.

Irrelevance is the word I am looking for. They would make him irrelevant

Idk if he'll get that far but their efforts to spread fake news through bots is working. Per our CIA director (Trump appointee) they're still up and running with their ****ery in Europe and are certain to target us again.

But hey, maybe the Braves will win 120 games and you can concentrate on the baseball threads.

No matter what you think about the Nunes Memo,

I want to remind everyone:

Russia's goal is to create instability & doubt in our gov't, institutions & leaders.

There is no evidence that Russia changed the 2016 outcome,

but it's clear their meddling has contributed to more division

Hey we got people in this thread spreading fake news.

Tends to happen online.

I'm curious though what the fake news was that swayed the election? I thought it was the exposure of DNC corruption that was the most effective tactic.

Congressional investigators are also trying to ascertain whether Cohen, one of Trump’s longest-serving and most trusted advisers, met with Russian operatives somewhere in Europe, including Prague, where the dossier alleges he attended a meeting to “clean up the mess” created by public disclosures of other Trump associates’ reported ties to Russia.

Cohen has come under close scrutiny for several Trump-Russia controversies, including emailing Putin’s spokesman two weeks before the first GOP primary to ask for his help in advancing a proposal to build a Trump Tower development project in Moscow. He also was linked to a proposed pro-Russian peace plan for Ukraine involving Felix Sater, a former Trump business associate with Russian government connections.

Cohen has strenuously denied that a Prague meeting occurred, and he provided a copy of his passport to BuzzFeed in May. The passport was stamped for entry and exit to the United Kingdom and Italy — but not the Czech Republic, whose capital is Prague. “I have never been to Prague in my life. #fakenews,” Cohen tweeted on Jan. 10.

His passport stamps show that he traveled twice to London in 2016 and once to Italy, from July 9 to July 17.

Cohen’s passport would not show any record of a visit to Prague if he entered the EU through Italy, traveled to the Czech Republic, and then returned to his point of EU entry. A congressional official said the issue is “still active” for investigators.

Hardly "proven false."

Okay, fine, I'll give that you to, although it's tenuous.

I'm still waiting for these "certain" truths that you are avoiding producing.

Here is one guy in particular who profited off of spreading fake news.

You phrase your question in a way to try to get me to say fake news entirely swung the election. I don't think that's the case but if you want to deny its influence, Idk what to tell you.

But since we're talking about swaying into election, one big thing was the letter written by Comey to Congress 11 days before the election. The letter sent by the head of an Anti-Trump, pro-Clinton agency with the help of Mr. Secret Society, aka, Insurance Policy Salesman, Peter Strzok himself.

I may be guilty of using hyperbole to some degree.

I'll give you one since you gave me one.

Page met with Rosneft representatives in Moscow in 2016. Lied about it. Dossier claims Rosneft folks wanted Page to push for a lifting of U.S. sanctions on Russia for its support of separatist efforts in Ukraine, and the Trump administration was lukewarm at best to a GOP commitment to send weapons to the Ukrainian army to fight those groups.

So we're at:

1 - McCabe's comments about the dossier were taken out of context

2 - The dossier was not the impetus for the investigation

3 - ???

3. is probably that it was disclosed to the court that Steele's research was ultimately funded by "a major political party." Which seems to speak to a major component of the hand-waving here.

why did DoJ wait until October to request the FISA on Page...it seems to me that given counterintelligene's prior interactions with him, a warrant should have been requested as soon as he insinuated himself into the Trump campaign

the Trump campaign disassociated itself from Page once his Moscow connections became known...one question I'm curious about is whether Page continued to play a behind the scenes role even after the public disassociation...there is a chance Page is a nothing burger but there are good reasons to scrutinize and investigate his activities
