Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

Now we learn they were spying on Trump prior to that.

What we have learned is that Halper chatted up Page after his visit to Moscow.

I would not equate that to "spying on Trump."

It is worth recalling that Page has a long history with Russians, including Russians known to be KGB. In light of that history I find the FBI's interest in him to be no more than doing their job.

So were Page, Mifsud, Papadopoulos all plants? If so who planted them?

I don't see how that is relevant to this at all.

The date the investigation started was made to be such a big deal. Now we learn they were spying on Trump prior to that. And further it may be even more than one spy.

Just wait till we get more information about Misfud.

This whole farse is crashing down around the left and the recent polling is showing America has had enough.

It's just relevant in that I don't want to see Nunes cited as person saying something relevant.

I haven't paid enough attention to the details/timeline to comment on the spy stuff you had talked about due to life changes, etc.

Paige is a clown that nobody took seriously. He was a means to an end for the fbi and you know this.

Chatting him up? Wow...

Why do you keep spelling it Paige?

I agree he has a screw loose. But the KGB ain't that picky. Page could be a "useful idiot."

Yeah. He just chatted Page up. You can do a search and find Page's account of the conversation they had.

For what purposes did they try to 'chat up' page and papa?

Laura Ingraham: Question, who started the conversation? Did he approach you? Did he mention Russia collusion first? How did it go down?

Carter Page: You know we had, it was a multi-day conference and there were scholars and people from government and both from the United Kingdom…

Laura Ingraham: I know but stay focused with me. Did he approach you first? Did you approach him? How did you first start speaking?

Carter Page: See, I don’t even recall. We spent a couple days together and…

Laura Ingraham: Couple days together?

Carter Page: Yeah, it was a long event. Over several days and… I didn’t feel groomed.

Page is such a weird guy. I think "grooming" is a term used for child predators.

In the case of Page it was probably due to a combination of the trip to Moscow and what was already in his files from past KGB contacts. The FBI would be interested to learn if he had been planted into the Trump campaign.

In the case of Papadopoulos the interest grew out of the chat with Downer the Aussie at the whiskey bar. I think the FBI again would have suspected the Russians of something after that report.

Btw in August 2016, the FBI in one of their briefings warned Trump that the Russians might be trying to infiltrate his campaign. He had an opportunity at that point to mention Junior's Trump tower meeting. Or what Papadopoulos relayed back to him regarding Mifsud's information about emails. But I don't believe he shared any of that with the FBI. With the benefit of hindsight, I do somewhat fault the FBI for not warning him off about Page when he announced Page as an adviser. I suspect they thought they might be able to learn something from keeping an eye on Page without tipping him off.

The input from the pro-collusion crowd has gotten weak lately (aside from nsacpi who continues to fight the good fight).

Our argument is moot and it's not gonna change anything.

That team Trump tried their best to collude while being bumbling idiots is public knowledge. Trump is still brazenly trying to obstruct, delegitimize and diminish the rule of law on a daily basis. His lies and Guiliani's comments (also lies) on the FBI show not only how guilty he is but also how profoundly sinister and diabolical he is at his core. He's a bad bad bad man and he'll skate freely by most all his crimes. The system is rigged in his favor. The media, even with all their horn blowing, cuts him way too much slack. Every time they bring his name up it should be prefaced with the phrase "the liar and crook Donald Trump".

"Of course the Russian effort affected the outcome…they swung the election to a Trump win. Russia targeted specific voter groups…

created lies that helped Trump…hurt Clinton… Promoted falsehoods…that US media were unwittingly spreading Russian propaganda.

To conclude otherwise stretches logic, common sense, and credulity to the breaking point. Less than 80,000 votes in 3 key states

swung the election. I have no doubt that more votes than that were influenced by this massive effort by the Russians.

Russia & Trump had strikingly parallel messaging. On a routine basis…when the campaign published an allegation that hurt

Clinton, the Russians would repeat, amplify embellish…When the Russians promulgated a conspiracy theory about her,

Trump would repeat it."

Maybe now that Clapper said "Russia swayed our election for Trump,"

we can begin an honest conversation about dealing with an illegitimate POTUS &

actions like packing courts. I know ppl don't want to talk about this. "It's too divisive."

Well, so is fascism & kleptocracy

Freidman had been accused of failing to pay more than $5 million in taxes and five other criminal counts each carrying maximum prison sentences of up to 25 years. In pleading guilty to a single count of criminal tax fraud, Freidman will be sentenced to five years’ probation, the attorney general’s office said.

A spokeswoman for the New York state attorney general did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters. Cohen did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

You might not like his assessments but, yeah, let's listen to Clapper.
