Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

I'm stunned

[Tw]1034140861716738049[/tw]
your first reaction in post #6186 was slightly better...emphasis on slightly

my own posts 6182 & 6185 allude to what Cohen/Davis allege with respect to the weekend when the Access Hollywood tape came out...a somewhat different event than the Trump Tower meeting

I post something having to do with event X and in response you post a correction/retraction regarding event Y. Well done.

nice of rajah to be doing such good pr work for the new yorker

so no collusion...just foreknowledge on TTT's part of non-collusion...the sort of things the FBI briefed him that the Russians might be up to

rajah says its fake news

I love that you are sure this is true... Like always

How many more corrections and retractions do there need to be before you think before you post?

I just post stuff I think is relevant to the discussion. Rajah might or might not be lying. He has been known to. Maybe he is imagining a New Yorker story that the rest of us will never see. Btw are you going to respond to my query in the media thread.

The sad part is he's equating Trump's business with the mafia and basically saying you're going to be a target so stay out of the game.

He explained, “I think the only people who are going to run for office independently wealthy people don’t have to rely on businesses or people who come from backgrounds where there is no vulnerability at all, but businessmen are going to be deterred from running for office, they know it will result in a kind of legal colonoscopy. Everything they have done from the day they started out in business. And they’re going to go beyond the statute of limitations because they will allege Rico violations. I’ve been through this. They usually do it with the mafia. It is the Al Capone approach. If we can’t get them on grounds we would like to get them on, let’s go after them on taxes, go after them on business. It is targeting people. If they can target president Trump, they can target you, they can target anyone. That’s the problem.”

How many corrections and retractions have there been, though? The tweet you posted yesterday listed six, only two of which were actually materially wrong. As you’re prone to reminding us, this story has been rolling for the better part of two years. Given the signal-to-noise ratio overall, I’d feel pretty comfortable challenging the narrative you’re putting out there.

As for the purported story that Stone is referring to...I’m going to wait until it’s reported, if it’s reported at all, before commenting. I will say, however, that while journalists are bound by best practices and prosecutors are bound by evidentiary standards, it doesn’t take a huge leap of faith to believe that Stone knew about the Podesta dump before it happened. He tweeted about it. That’s just Occam’s Razor, really. Whether or not he told Trump about it is unknowable now, and will maybe stay that way.

This requires careful reading but I believe it contains significant new information regarding the circumstances of the Flynn and Comey firings. Indeed, it helps us understand how the collusion/collaboration matters and the obstruction/abuse of power issues come together.

To the question Senator Whitehouse asked, which Yates could not resolve, we now have the answer. The White House did indeed send someone over to review the intercepts. As the special counsel knows, that person was John Eisenberg. And what Eisenberg learned, the special counsel also knows, the president understood when he fired Flynn.

And he understood it when he fired Sally Yates with the spurious claim that she had "betrayed" her country.

Another one flips.

Manafartov associate from Cambridge Analytica agrees to cooperate. Ramping up pressure on Manafort to flip.

the details are hairy to say the least.
The cooperator admits to funneling Russian money to the inaugural funds. Since it is illegal for foreign's to contribute the perp and friends funneled the money for them. It was in effect another Russian money laundering scheme

Months ago Rachel was wondering about the whereabouts of , the source and documentation of the Inaugural funds.
trurns out, as I understand it, the funds for the parties were (before getting caught) used to pay DJT and DJT Jr's legal fees.

It gets complicated .

But, if I have the story right, the Russians are helping fund DJT legal bills
whew.

I am old enough to remember when corruption was construed as taking a meeting with a foreign that might lead people to get the impression there might seem be the appearance of corruption

who knew ?

and just to be clear, the House Ethics Committee last week spent a day on HRC's emails.
No reports of wrong doing or the appearance of what might seem to be corruption
