You'Re right. It is stupid. People at the FBI operate on one cental tenet - everybody gets caught eventually.
Not the investigators.
The FBI KNEW that Page was a CIA asset and they pursued a FISA on him already.
If you can't realize what the reason for that was then I just can't help you.
All of this was to spy on the Trump campaign. ALL OF IT.
Most corrupt president in our countries history and a point in history that will live in infamy forever.

What do you think a CIA asset is, and what is the evidence that Page was one, and why does that matter for a FISA?
The basis for the FISA was Pages contacts with Russia and their implications on infiltration into a presidential campaign.
But his contacts in no way could have led to that based on the reason he had contacts with them in the first place.
There is no excuse for the FBI thinking that Page was a vulnerability because of communications with Russia.

What you really wanted to say is you are fine with the fbi finding unlawful ways.
It speaks to the central issue at debate which is the FBI illegally obtaining a FISA warrant in a US citizen just so they could spy on the Trump campaign.

It is a known fact that the CIA has used Page as an intelligence asset specially related to Russia

Sure. Why does the fact that the CIA at some point used someone for information mean they should be FISA ineligible? That doesn't seem obvious to me.
Because his prior contacts which caused concern from the fbi, as per their token FISA statement, resulted from work done for the CIA.
It's very clear what happened here. FBI used a false pretext to get communications while Page was on the Trump campaign. You know that. I know that and most importantly Barr/Durham know that.
