this is a terrible, terrible thing for you to say in our "free" country. it is astounding. i don't trust cops, and I would trust them even less if I were black and had to deal with them.

perhaps we should actually start punishing cops who abuse power. too often they're defended. they know the chances of repercussions are extremely small. this guy got caught red-handed. sometimes even that's not enough.

I see both sides. Not saying the fault lies with the victim here. Clearly it doesn't. But resisting arrest certainly never, ever helps your cause.

Yes.

You have his information. He did not have a history of violence. He was unarmed. He was being arrested for failure to pay child support. Why in the hell would the situation need to be escalated to deadly force?

Chase after the guy. Wait for backup. Put out an APB on him. Any option other than shooting him would have been the right move.

Yeah. You're taking the "public safety" equation onto the negative side when you shoot in that situation.
 
Not sure what driving a Mercedes or not paying child support have to do with anything. The guy didn't deserve to be killed because of missed child support payments.

Maybe it's a really old Mercedes. Maybe he's just a deadbeat dad who cares about himself and doesn't want to pay child support. Who knows. ALl that matters is he was murdered by a cop.

True. But when a guy is that far behind in child support I would imagine that the state is garnishing his wages. Combine that with his past felony, the dude couldn't have a good job. Sad that the dude died, but we shouldn't overlook the fact that he was a piece of ****.

True, he certainly did appear to be a POS, but it is NOT OK for the police to be judge, jury, and executioners, and no amount of spin or "if X was black and Y was white the media would be doing Z" makes it OK. Also, if it was OK for cops to just shoot whomever they felt were POSs wouldn't Congress be totally empty? Wait, which side was I on again???

Like I said, it's a great thing this was caught on tape bc if it wasn't you'd be on here defending the cop. I am 100% sure of it.

So you have no problems with deadbeat dads who don't pay up, don't show up for court and have a felony assault on thier record?

If a guy like that was married or did that crap to your sister, you'd be calling him a piece of **** too. Don't lie
