I absolutely cannot get past the DHS social media team’s pathological need to ensure they attack any framing that makes an immigrant out to be anything but a criminal that threatens our safety as a nation. A dude who has been here since 1998 with one DUI charge from 6 years ago is not someone we *needed* to remove from the country to keep America safe. It’s within their legal purview to deport him, but it’s absolutely fine for a news outlet to question what the fuck they’re doing here.

It’s within their legal purview to deport him, but it’s absolutely fine for a news outlet to question what the fuck they’re doing here.
Because it’s fair to question if the folks who are constantly campaigning and messaging on their laser-focused mission to go after the worst of the worst are actually, you know, doing what they say they are. NBC is reporting on a community’s response to this man’s arrest. It doesn’t claim the government is doing something illegal, just that a community is upset with the government’s actions that are allegedly being done to save that community. It’s absolutely newsworthy and the media has no obligation to run cover for the government by ignoring it.
Do you want me to show you this is a lie through the numerous written statements by the Trump Campaign and subsequently Administration, or just the countless videos of Trump and DHS saying it outright? They did not ever promise to protect illegal immigrants that weren’t committing crimes, but they have certainly been aggressive in their messaging to the public about this being primarily about getting violent criminals off the streets.
That sounds like you’re describing a benign administrative procedure, and not ICE violently raiding your friendly neighbor’s house and detaining him for weeks of months in one of their various locally branded detention centers while simultaneously whining about any dissent toward that behavior.

Perhaps not, but there’s far less public support for this sort of extreme treatment when it’s being used on a violinist in Utah than an MS-13 member, which is why the government is using propaganda to make it seem like they’re just saving us from the violent criminals.
I bet they’d have been more effective at helping thethe win your bet if they’d just refrained from comic book villain shit like sending people to Salvadoran detention centers without a trial or driving around in unmarked cars with masks on to violently arrest random migrants. But that would be boring and then you can’t make fun ASMR videos of people in chains to post on your official government social media accounts.

But what we are seeing now is a lot of self deportations and like magic Americans are getting jobs with rising wages. Don’t think that won’t help sentiment for the pro deportation crowd. Just wait till rent prices and hole prices tumble.
There is a breaking point and in the western world we have reached it. We will drag the whiny leftists over the finishing line because despite disagreement you are citizens of this nation and have every right to be here. We will just make it a better world for your children.
The law abiding citizens of El Salvador are grateful and don’t mind at all the approach was heavy handed. It will be the same if citizens of our great cities that are overwhelmed with migrant trash and the percentage of black people that cause the majority of crimes.
I kind of admire how Conservatives will call you crazy for trusting crime statistics put out by the government unless that government is explicitly campaigning on public safety improving. Then it’s just obvious and accurate and we shouldn’t look any further.
