Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

It is also noteworthy that 3 shots were fired. Any run-of-the-mill police officer in a big city or small town would be under administrative leave and lawyering up in anticipation of an indictment.

So you have all the angles and still choose to believe the ICE officer was truly in danger.
I see the angles where her wheels are pointed towards the officer as she hits the gas. I see the angle form the back which shows physical contact made with the officer.

I know this woman is a lunatic and devoted her life to this over the wellbeing of her child.

You don’t let someone drive off after they’ve used their car as a lethal weapon. This is is insanity. All those shots take place in 1 second.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer who fatally shot a Minneapolis woman in her SUV had been seriously injured in June when he hooked his arm into the car window of an alleged fugitive who sped off and dragged him down the street, according to court records and details provided by the Department of Homeland Security.

Federal authorities did not publicly name the officer who killed Renee Nicole Good on Wednesday. But court records reviewed by The Washington Post of the prior incident in Bloomington, a suburb of Minneapolis, identify the officer as Jonathan Ross, who works for ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations division that detains immigrants for civil violations and attempts to deport them.

This detail makes me sympathetic to the officer. In the same way I'd be more sympathetic to a vet suffering from PTSD who commits a crime. But it doesn't change my assessment of what happened in Minneapolis.

Those guns are most likely deactivated. And ergo no longer deadly weapons. If they're capable of being fired, they're still a deadly weapon.
And a car is capable at driving at high speeds with high mass directly at a human being unless you believe that throughout history a car was not used as a deadly weapon.

I knife is capable of killing someone but when I'm chopping up an onion I don't go "Gee I could kill someone with this" because I"m not a psychopath

You comparing being shot at to someone driving a car close to them is hysterical.
