You know what the end result would look like of an extreme vetting system?

One that would make people scream it was a racist one to begin with.

I’m not sure why (R) isn’t putting their political capital behind such a system.

A screening that ends with a thumbs up or down based solely on country of origin is a recipe for missing out on a lot of net producers, and worse, letting in a bunch of net takers.

I'm not arguing for more or fewer immigrants from any particular country (including Norway). But I am opposed to the racialization of American immigration policy (changing the law in an attempt to get more immigrants who look like they might be from Norway). Just to be clear I have nothing against people of Norwegian ancestry. I know some very fine people from Norway.

And Norway itself is a wonderful country, and to be congratulated for its very high vaccination rate which has allowed it to drop covid-related restrictions and for its very low death rate compared to one of its...

How about we just accept each immigrant regardless of where they come from strictly on merit.

Why act like any merit based system wouldn't result in that composition? Just so we can act like we are SUPER NOT RACIST? GTFO - We have a country to save. I have fucking children and I want them to grow up in as great of a country as I did.
