Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

I thought we were talking about thethe renting his house
Well, if i have the experience of a particular demographic causing me financial ruin... it would be difficult for me to not remember that.

Perhaps youre just a better man than me. But past experience generally informs future decision making in my world

I believe a system wherein the property owners make decisions based solely on racial prejudice to be an example systemic racism.
For every thethe example there are 100 section 8 examples where a white person is not allowed... but thats legal systemic racism... not an individual.

Notice where your ire has been drawn

Well yeah, we agreed on the other one. I could just start arguing points we agree on too if you’d like.

But youre mad about a random individual... who by the way - rented his home to a black family - and paid a heavy price for doing so

Thats what your pissed at

Not a peep about governemnt systemic racism outside of token "well im against that too"

But i really dont think you are. If tomorrow trump announced he was able to end it all, you would cry about it. Youd call him a racist. Id bet if i went back and looked at georgia voting law, you were claiming jim crow 2.0 racial discrimination

I’m all for thethe making his decision to rent to whomever he’d like for whatever he’d want.

The point of the analogy was to use predictive data to make a business decision. I don’t fault thethe for having a bias. But using it as a screening tool while ignoring other input data isn’t good business sense

You’re reading this as pissed? I’m just leisurely discussing the nuances of systemic racism for funsies. I don’t give a fuck who thethe rents his house to. If he thinks blackness alone is a disqualifier, I’m not going to go march outside his house.

You made the og point that systemic racism is alive and well - and your crowning example was a random individual using a past experience to think twice about a future one

The actual government racism doesnt bither you at all. Bc any racism.against whitey is perfectly acceptable to a leftist

Because I am doing this for fun. And I could pull up a bunch of sources and statistics showing how this anecdote is just part of a broader social issue, but I don’t feel the need to do all that when I can just say thethe is being a fuckwit if he thinks blackness is the determining factor no matter what the context is.

When it was about immigration, the argument was “how can we possibly get reliable data to screen individuals when they’re coming from 3rd world countries!”

Now when it’s a situation where plentiful, reliable data is available to judge the individuals on their merits, it’s “ignore all the data in favor of broad racial stereotypes!”

Weird.

Sure - an option that doesn’t exist. Cool cop out. You know who you would pick.
Lol.

Shame on chop for his “cool cop out” to this hypothetical world where “for some crazy reason” his life is on the line based on a foot race between random black guy and a random white guy. Really sucks there’s no available stopwatches in this nonexistent world.

My scenario is pick a racer if your life depended on it. The stopwatch isn’t an option. Keep up

But nobody has a gun to your head as you pick up an applicant’s rental application and demanding you make a gut decision. You’re claiming instead that even with access to relevant information that would allow you to move past stereotypes that you would cling to them. It’s a much different scenario.
