Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

OMG a candidate wasn’t truthful? Time to overthrow the election!

It was certainly a popular movement amongst the pro west western part of the country. Shame they had an election though where everyone got a say.

It would be super popular in this country if Trump was overthrown!

I guess that means its ok!

1. It was a contested election. And afterward, he tried to get his opposition arrested (and suceeded). There are also numerous accounts of voter fraud and intimidation.

2. The protests happened a good 3 years into his Presidency. And the vast majority of people in Ukraine were super pissed about the corruption and backing out of the EU Association Agreement, which was universally supported.

3. The only reason Yanukovych even backed out of the EU Association Agreement was because Russia put pressure on him not to do it and he was quote clearly in Putin's pocket.

You literally called for us to impeach Biden and Harris numerous times and throw them in jail. Mighty long fall from that high horse.

1. What elections aren't contested? What are you going to say if Trump finds criminality in the old regime and the DOJ goes after them? They certainly tried to go after Trump. We have voter fraud and intimidation here. Can you tell the coutnry that doesn't have this? Who is to say it didn't happen in both ways - Just insinuating it happened just for Pro-Russia side is kind of another tell for you.

2. Yes - Color Revolutions take time to implement. Why were US policiticans/administrative agents spending so much time there stoking the fire?

3. Oh you mean Putin used his power with another country? Whats different than what the US or other Western Countries do?

Your defense basically boils down to whatever Putin does is bad despite it being almost identical to what Western Powers are doing. Its a tell.

No you clearly do not. Godwin's law is the longer an online debate goes on the higher the probability is that Hitler or Nazi Germany will be brought up in an analogy.

Yes to end a debate effectively - My comparison was to understand the rise of Nazi Germany and not to liken it to anything else that is happening.

So again, you don't understand Godwins law.

1. Dude if you can't tell the difference in US Elections and an Eastern European nation that didn't exist 35 years ago, then there is no use arguing with you. Do you think the Venezuelan election last year was legit or anything remotely resembling a fair election?

2. Ukraine effectively wanted to join the EU, mostly because Ukraine stood to benefit financially from the partnership. That's why policy makers were involved.

3. I think most people are not ok with happened in Iraq and Afghanistan. Wouldn't you agree?

No of course not for Venezuela but you are saying the Ukraines elections were corrupt pre 2014 and were fine moving forward?

Trying to understand your position here - What type of fraud existed that was unique?

2) Ukraine did or did Western Ukraine wanted to? Does Eastern Ukraine get a say in that?

3) the piece you referrenced was not war but standard politics for elections

Is that what I said? Because I quite clearly never mentioned that.

ALL (or effectively all) of Ukraine wanted to. It was an extremely popular position that had resounding support from all of Parliament. And it was a something that Yanukovych had been actively working on for 3 years without any reservation. Then at the last second he backed out. It's almost like someone told him not to....

It was clear economic pressures that Putin was levying on the country because he was opposed to it - You are just assuming he was doing PUtins bidding and not responding to politics just as he and hte country were doing to promises/threats made by the EU side.

The country knew he was 'Pro-Russia' and elected him - Split almost directly down the center of the country. It is no surprise to the people and using Parliment as a proxy for hte people is like saying hte US Congress actually represents their people and don't get corrupted. Good luck with that.

Ukraine was widely considered either hte most corrupt nation in the world or one of the most.

You don't think this corruption was focused on Parliament?

BUT I READ ON WIKIPEDIA THAT THE PARLIMENT WAS PRO-EU!!!!

Imagine living in the US and thinking that a parliamentary body actually represents the will of the people. And this is the 'least corrupt' country on earth (US) versus Ukraine which is considered the most corrupt.

No I do understand it you do not.

Let me use ye old internet to explain it to you.
https://web.archive.org/web/20120829094739/http://w2.eff.org/Net_culture/Folklore/Humor/godwins.law

"As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison
involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one."

" As soon as such a comparison occurs, someone will start a
Nazi-discussion spinoff thread on alt.censorship."

The point of Godwin's law is to end a debate because it will spiral off topic. Something that's a favorite tactic of yours.
