Seems to me that “America First” is a PRINCIPLE and its defenders are championing policies to uphold that PRINCIPLE, regardless of evidence of their effectiveness.

Who in the actual **** do you think is going to get rich off domestic production? I swear to god MAGA could be convinced to seize the means of production if Trump gave it a snappy name like Americans First Economic or something.

Potato, tomato. Countries with those systems have those policies. Whether one causes the other or vice versa, it doesn’t read as a validation of the trade strategy.
