Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

To have a secure chat where they can text each other? Seems pretty obvious - From what I've read it was already on their issued phones.

So yes, the only question is why a member of the Trump admin invited a reporter with a sketchy history of reporting.

Did you ever share those 'war plans'? How about how this was Hegseths fault?

It’s secure from a FOIA request I suppose. Pretty obvious indeed.

I’ll grant that the headline of Hegseth captured me and the blame should be on a different member of the Trump Admin but it doesn’t negate any of what happened.

Tariffs don’t work - just pay attention to nominal incrwsss in costs of certain goods without any acknowledgement of the other great things tariffs do for host nations

THEY ARE BLOWING IT!

The publishing of this information is the begining of the end for government waste (material portion of it).

HAHAHAHA - Goldberg better come up with something substantive to describe 'war plans'.

The real issue here is Waltz. Could and should be grounds for firing.

Well, if the Press Secretary says so I guess we should just go on about our days.

Well if a reporter with a history of improper reporting says it I guess we should just go on about our days.

Am I doing this right?

You are! I knew I could count on your to lick the government’s boots when spinning their own **** up by vilifying the person they accidentally added to their secretive group chat on an app that can hide all its contents from the American people.

Lick the governemnts boots? You mean question the motives of a journalist with a long history that works for a newspaper that absolutely despites Trump? What happens when no 'war plans' are released?
Yeah - we understand your angle here.

Where are the 'glaring issues' that you keep referencing? Do you even know? Or is it because the 'drunk guy who is head of defense' triggers you so much?

Weird guy to add to your strategy session.

And the glaring issue is using Signal in the first place and having so little control over National Security that a reporter knew we were striking the Houthis before we did it. I guess we’re just lucky this lying reporter decided to not blow it up.

I agree it was a weird add - That is what needs to be investigated.

What other options do governemtn employees have to have a secure chat? Do you expect things to happen over calls and in person all the time?

Doesn't seem to be 'glaring' to me. Unless of course you believe 'war plans' were discussed.

Careful now, you’re veering toward a full-throated defense of Hillary Clinton’s server.

Also, that is what we should be investigating, yes. That’s the bad thing that happened. The fact it was on an app meant to get around transparency laws is a separate issue but you seem to be fine with the government hiding things now.

Oh you mean the one that she had to acid wash because super innocent stuff was being discussed.

I'm still waiting for 'war plans' - Everything that was released was basically guys discussing how trashy European leadership is and that we shouldn't have to clean up their mess in the red Sea (Which I agree with!).

All I see is that JD Vance is 100% the torchbearer for true America First policy.

It admittedly would have been much easier for her if Signal existed back then. I’m just supposed to take it on blind faith that the app people use to tell the press **** when they don’t want to be caught is being used transparently?

She didn't want the information to disappear though - Only when people asked about it.

But if you want to bring up how a member of the Democratic establishment basically defied a subpoena because the stuff on her server was so damaging I'm all for it.
