I’ve seen them, not much change at all here
Like I said all this pearl clutching about prices seems crazy. All media driven for now
To be fair, the media is accurately reporting on what will almost certainly happen to prices if wide-ranging tariffs indeed go into effect. This isn’t some fringe leftist economic theory here. Prices have continued to rise but thus far that’s not really Trump’s fault for the most part. But those dramatic supposed benefits of increased domestic production had better be pretty ****ing immediate and somehow greatly impact a big percentage of the working class.
Why I think this is destined to blow up in Trump’s face if he actually follows through is we have a ginormous service worker industry. Someone please explain to me how someone working at Home Depot or Chick-Fil-A or a doctor’s office will be ushered into a new wave of prosperity when prices go up but those employers continue to drag down wages through subtle manipulations of its underpaid workforce. Those people *are* the working class, and either labor costs will skyrocket in that space to compete with any new manufacturing or they’ll cut operational payroll costs and we’ll continue to have less people to help us anywhere. This is essentially the federal minimum wage increase repurposed for a MAGA audience.
