Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

I’ve seen them, not much change at all here

Like I said all this pearl clutching about prices seems crazy. All media driven for now

To be fair, the media is accurately reporting on what will almost certainly happen to prices if wide-ranging tariffs indeed go into effect. This isn’t some fringe leftist economic theory here. Prices have continued to rise but thus far that’s not really Trump’s fault for the most part. But those dramatic supposed benefits of increased domestic production had better be pretty ****ing immediate and somehow greatly impact a big percentage of the working class.

Why I think this is destined to blow up in Trump’s face if he actually follows through is we have a ginormous service worker industry. Someone please explain to me how someone working at Home Depot or Chick-Fil-A or a doctor’s office will be ushered into a new wave of prosperity when prices go up but those employers continue to drag down wages through subtle manipulations of its underpaid workforce. Those people *are* the working class, and either labor costs will skyrocket in that space to compete with any new manufacturing or they’ll cut operational payroll costs and we’ll continue to have less people to help us anywhere. This is essentially the federal minimum wage increase repurposed for a MAGA audience.

If there’s one thing this Administration doesn’t do, it’s complain. And certainly not about unelected activist judges, the lying media or paid protestors at town halls.

I'm not sure why Trump should care about one thing the establishment has to say about anythying

Looks like its mqt/chosen/zbhargrove position to keep MS-13 members in our country.

Good to know!

The same idiots that fell for every MSM narrative are falling for it again.

But please argue on the 20 side of a 80/20 issue.

Whoops

Nah, that was already litigated in court. This was based on the testimony of a CI and not determined sufficient for his deportation on those grounds. This is not a person who was supposed to be sent to this prison, simple as that. The Trump admin can cling to whichever insufficient evidence they want.

except he's not..

he came here at age 16

an administrative judge found that he was at risk from gang violence...a gang was trying to extort money from his mother's pupusa shop...the family had to move 3 times...the gang tried to recruit his older brother who also fled the country...then they came for him

in 2019 the judge granted him a protection known as a "withholding of removal" after finding his testimony and the testimony of his other family members to be credible

the adminsitration should write a letter to the government of El Salvador explaining its mistake and allow him to return to his wife and child

Look, we already sold him to El Salvador fair and square. We can’t be reneging on our slave sales just because they’re not guilty.

(Yes, I know we pay El Salvador, but that’s still essentially the game here)

i understand the diplomatic sensitivities

we should make a deal with el salvador

they send us Abrego back in exchange for actual for real gang members to be named later

maybe a five for one swap

if necessary we can cough up some dough too (from the DOGE savings) to grease the way

i'm looking out for the taxpayer here...it seems to me that Abrego and others are gonna be suing Uncle Sam for mucho dinero...maybe if we can get them back they will be grateful and not look to extract the full damages
