I don’t think we should be giving Harvard nearly this much money to begin with, but I do wonder what the plan is going forward. Are we just getting out of the domestic science game? I don’t for a second think we need to funnel everything toward the elite schools like Harvard, but what does excellence in academics look like under a Trump Presidency? Strict adherence to the government’s beliefs or freedom to cultivate innovation as a University sees fit (but ideally with less public money and more scrutiny on its excesses).

Actually this sadly makes sense. I feel like there’s a lot of goldfish people living in this country that are so disconnected from the world outside of their bubble that literally one day of talking about the President ignoring a 9-0 SCOTUS ruling and bringing in the President from El Salvador to be extra dickish about it was enough for some people to care less about how his economic policy makes no sense.
