Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

We are talking about now - Trumps actions right now and the impact his economic policies will have.

What happened in the past has already happened. Trump and team are recalibrating the whole system that caused this.
do you understand why the value of the dollar has declined?

do you think it has something to do with foreign manufacturing? foreign manufacturing has been what's allowed poor Americans to stay above water

trump policies have the unique effect of destroying our dollar while also making goods much pricier in the process. he is the ultimate destroyer of the little guy

The United States receives $50 billion per year from 1 million foreign students. Educational services is one industry where we are highly competitive and successful as exporters. I thought this administration cared (in its own misguided way) about the trade deficit and considered it a priority to reduce it.

Who receives it? In what form?

the institution providing the educational service is paid by the foreign student (the source of that money is usually that student's family or counrty)

just like when a tourist comes here and has dinner at an American restaurant it is an export by that restaurant to the foreign customer

if they are doing anything illegal or improper it should be dealt with...obviously

i'm just saying that educational services are a large and very successful export industry...one i'm proud to be part of...every year i get a bunch of impressionable foreign students and pour the kool aid into their brains

Nothing illegal about radicalization. It’s still a massive issue.

They have enemies they want to punish. Damn the consequences.

I do hope this reinvigorates higher education. They’d grown soft from their safe places.

has trump applied ANY pressure to any GOP congressman to CUT any spending? to codify DOGE cuts?

we know he has applied pressure to anyone who didn't support the massive spending

what does that say to the cult?
