Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

In America, in the last few years lol

I mean something remotely relevant

There were NG deployed to Seattle and that wasn’t permanent.

So there’s more evidence to the contrary than your doomsday predictions lol

This is the fundamental problem with Trump and his approach to governing, and also why his constant bitching about the negative press is such bullshit. Trump and his team want to be *the* story every single day, but they only want that to be the story of how they’re saving America. That’s not how fucking government should function in a healthy society.

Well they also battle a constant gotcha headlines from nameless sources that have become the norm. It’s the only way some of these media sources are staying in business

But yes that’s their desire to stay on top of mind no doubt

I don’t disagree with you here, but I do find it harder to begrudge a for-profit corporation for chasing headlines than I do the people who were put in place by the electorate to serve the public good. What I’ve found to be particularly irksome is that rather than address the claims or criticisms of the media, the Trump Administration has figured out all they have to do is blindly use their supporter’s distrust of the media to shut down the conversation. We’ve seen this in practice with Hegseth and Noem quite a bit, and as a country we need to figure out how we can actually keep public servants accountable without blindly trusting every thing the media says.
