It’s safe to say I don’t share in your optimism that this, like regime change in Venezuela, can be done without some sort of negative consequences to us or the people there. Time will tell which of us was right, I guess.

We should not be touching Iran with any military local presence. Let the Arab states along with Israel commit the neeed blood to make that happen.

Venezuela is a different story. Judeo-Christians want democracy.

That is the exact wrong way to think about it and very very short sighted. Once VZ turns into a total disaster (where it was heading) the garbage comes in... SO:

What happens to the VZ people if China basically owns the country?

Putin?

Or the US?

Or keep the status quo that was crushing their people and democracy was stamped out by force and elections stolen (i know where you stand here) ?

Which of these is a better scenario?

Which of these is worse for the people of VZ?

I’m not all that invested in his innocence, I’m just saying that some dude at HHS randomly noting an association to a company that committed fraud is a very peculiar way for the government to communicate this if he was a person of interest in a criminal investigation.

Well since half the country doesn't get the information you have to push it out in many different ways.
