Japan allows like 2 or 3 weeks I cannot recall the exact number and don't want to go down that rabbit hole again

A month is a clean timeline. Gives you plenty of time and no excuse. If you want to narrow it a bit whatever. But there's no reason it can't be a month other than you don't want it.

Also I forgot to say Japan does have absentee aka mail in voting.

The point about early voting is that many of the reasons to do an absentee ballot go away if you have enough time to go to a poll. Can't use the I'm sick, I'll be away on vacation, can't get off work and dont' want to wait on line late at night in the cold. Etc.

Give me a reason why a month is truly outlandish.

A lot changes in a month (Biden laptop) where people shouldn't be banking their vote.

Nobody needs a month to vote - Saying otherwise is outlandish. Everyone knows when election day is - Plan accordingly if you really care about voting.

Not everyone can make that happen. It's not a federal holiday, I've worked every election day I think since I was 19. I've lucked out that I've never had to wait too long at any poll line. But I lived in New Brunswick which had a massive voting area, and I lived in NH for the other federal elections. So Just not the populace there. I didn't live somewhere that I had to wait hours at the polls, I didn't live somewhere that I had to stand outside for hours.

Personally I still don't see why someone would have an issue with a month.

Look at polls for 2024, there was no major needle moving post like August. People's minds were made up. Sure big things could happen. But most people know who they want to vote on well before the election. We know that's the truth. And if you want more time, you can wait until election day.

You are making the argument to be longer than a day not to have a full month to vote.

Voting is a serious thing and it should be taken seriously. If you can't find a time to vote within a week then maybe you shouldn't be voting int he first place.
 
This idea that someone needs a month to vote is lunacy.

There are zero circumstances where a motivated voter can't find time to vote in week.
 
I want to give people a chance but if you are trying to tell me you need more than a week I will just laugh in your face
