Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

Democrats used to talk about illegals taking jobs and lowering wages of middle class Americans. They are a joke of a party and anyone who votes for them is a sap

Or... why did Biden change his stance? Why did Schumer? Why did Clinton? Why did Pelosi?

All on record not 15 years ago supporting the Trump agenda. Now they are risking everything to protect illegals.

Outside of a massive power grab (my opinion) why did they change?

Perhaps we have a PHD who can weigh in at his 20% threshold
He chose not to

A race based immigration system would be far better for the host nation. Saying otherwise is just nonsense or something to say just to make yourself feel better.
One of the best men and bosses I have ever worked for was a black dude who could have made his life much easier by not repeatedly sticking his neck out for a hillbilly who just moved to the city and was managing a 95% black workforce. There’s no place on Earth that isn’t better with him in it.

I’ve also lived in more trailer parks than most people have set foot in and dealt with more white millionaires than most people have spoken to. There’s no place on Earth that wouldn’t be better off without many of them.

Data carries plenty of weight and stereotypes are usually based in some truth, but you’re kneecapping the country by making immigration solely race based. You’re also being hypocritical when you call for the end of DEI preferences and quotas on one hand and then call for racial qualifiers on immigration with the other. Merit should always be the qualifier.

Well my position is race should play a huge roll in admittance. Edge cases will always be edge cases subject to different results.

Your personal story is countered by thousands others in the complete opposite direction so while I’m happy you had this in your life I am depressed at what countless others have to endure.

I’m not sure what you want from me here? You had a great experience with someone I assume has been a citizen their entire life. I’ve never once spoke about remigration based on race.

It’s only about new entrants. Am I supposed to be permanently moved by your experience and ignore the countless others across the western world.

What is the appropriate response to you other than saying you’re right and race based immigration standards aren’t appropriate?

Additionally - you are cheering in restore Britain and rightfully so.

What do you think is the bedrock of their party?

Justify it. Explain why a policy that would exclude Vivek, Sowell, Marco, etc because of their race and would include Pelosi or Marx because of theirs is a good thing.

I’ve already stated edge cases can get in and you know that’s my policy. But race based as an initial filter or “negative” on the case would solve lots of issues. You know this is true. I also know we would improperly exclude a small number of people.

Culture is not the same as race. They’ve allowed mass, unvetted, immigration from specific places that share cultural values that don’t play well with soft Western values. It doesn’t matter if the gang of immigrants raping a British girl is black from Nigeria, Arab from Libya, or Asian from Bangladesh. They haven’t filtered for merit and they haven’t done anything to encourage integration.

How are we going to magically find only these “edge cases” in the children of various immigrants and other talented young people looking to come to America to attend our universities?

I personally don’t think this is an endeavor we need to pursue to begin with obviously, but racial/national restrictions on immigration will also deprive us of these types of success stories.

Any race from a respectable country has an option to make their case. The end result of a merit based system strictly will mirror a race based system

They’ll have a very impressive resume that can be easily corroborated.
