Shootings In Las Vegas

So this guy fits the profile for Westerners recruited by ISIS, huh? And Antifa, too? That strikes me as incredibly convenient. Maybe you should share some of the sources that you're learning this from.

Just people on my twitter feed. I'm not saying as if these are confirmed pieces of news.

Now the AP is reporting he was a multi millionaire real estate investor.

I wonder if you have enough self-awareness to feel even the tiniest bit of shame for all the times you've posted about "the left" making accusations of racism when your takeaway from this tragedy is that the shooter had an Indonesian girlfriend and therefore was an Islamic terrorist.

And ISIS claimed responsibility....

And the fact that is was highly organized and planned...

Let's leave those out though.

Liberals are sick pieces of garbage.
The crap people have said about not feeling remorse for the victims and then garbage goldfly spewed about hurricane victims a few weeks ago.

Shooter owned over 40 guns ... thousands of rounds of ammo and explosives/bomb making equipment found at his home. Definitely didn't just "snap" as his brother suggested - this appears to have been meticulously orchestrated over a considerable period of time.

Man disappears for 6 months (as per neighbors) and has a girlfriend from Indonesia. ISIS claiming responsibility.

Pieces are starting to fall in place. Still need more to be definitive.

Ugly ugly people. Justification of violence is all you need to know.

Let's not paint with such a broad brush. Some of the idiots wearing hoods and swastikas probably vote like you or I.

For those of you stuck on gun control, explain to me how making a lucrative black market for guns is going to fix the problem. Did you learn nothing from prohibition?

Have to laugh at you—of all people in this board—dispensing judgment as to who constitutes an "ugly" person, given your ugly-souled derangement.

"Pieces are starting to fall in place"

Ok, firstly show me the piece where she's from Indonesia. You aren't going to find any muslims let alone muslims from Indonesia with the name Marilou.

She's from the Philippines. I knew this when I saw her picture and name. Seems you need to get your pieces checked first before you think you have this thing solved. Which right-wing website did you read about her being from Indonesia to further push your anti-muslim rhetoric? She's also an Australian citizen which would make sense, because there are Filipino immigrants everywhere in English speaking countries since English is essentially an unofficial national language. This is why they export so many doctors, nurses, teachers, and are sometimes the ones answering the calls at a customer service call center.

I can also say Filipina women are very submissive and subservient, especially the ones that try to come here. That's exactly why loners like Paddock bring them to the states when they can't find a wife here. I've known so many "mail order" Filipina brides with white men 20-40+ years older than them. They're cheap to bring here, they speak mostly understandable English, know how to cook, and are very submissive and will not talk back to their husbands. These men need that type of empowerment in their lives, and that's why they are attracted to them. They won't argue, just be told what to do. Sad but it happens a lot. The girls/women want to come here (and will sometimes leave their children there, and once they are legal will petition to bring them here), and guys like Paddock want companionship with a lady like it's 1950's. It's a win-win for both parties.

Paddock may have made some of his purchases at gun shows. In Las Vegas, that would be simple, as such shows are held almost every week.

But maybe not. As the Brady Campaign puts it …

When an individual goes to a retailer to purchase a firearm, the retailer contacts the FBI to run a background check on each gun purchaser. The FBI checks the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) to see if they are a prohibited purchaser. Prohibited purchasers include felons, fugitives, domestic abusers and the dangerously mentally ill. Simply put, the effective Brady Law prevents guns from getting into the hands of dangerous people.

The first two sentences of that statement are true. Or, almost true, as Donald Trump signed an executive order earlier this year lifting most considerations of mental illness from background checks. Still background checks, when the information is right, should prevent people with a criminal history from buying a gun from a dealer. And … that’s it.

The number of background checks that are run on someone, is not a factor in determining the results of a background check. If someone passes the check once, they’ll pass it again. And again. And again. Ad inifinitum.

Paddock appears to have visited a number of different gun shops, but that was likely so that he raised no suspicion from the owners and workers at those shops. Likewise, he appears to have visited a number of ranges, some of which were very likely to have fully automatic weapons. Even if Paddock didn’t purchase such a weapon from them, he would have had the opportunity to train in their use.

The only place that would have had the knowledge that he was compiling an arsenal would be the FBI. Only that wasn’t possible. Just ask the NRA.

Currently, the FBI is not permitted to retain records on persons who pass NICS checks.

That’s because the NRA regards allowing the FBI to keep records on background checks are akin to registration. In fact, they’ve fought hard to demonize the idea.

In 2009, Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) introduced legislation, co-sponsored by handgun and “assault weapon” ban advocate Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), proposing that the FBI retain such records for 180 days.

That legislation did not pass. So background checks are made … then they’re thrown away. The number of such requests someone makes can’t be a factor in determining if they pass, because the system forgets they asked before. On purpose. Because the last thing gun manufacturers want to do is raise a flag over someone buying a lot of guns—that’s good behavior so far as they’re concerned.

Right now it’s perfectly correct for someone to say that background checks would not have stopped the shooting in Las Vegas. They didn’t. Because they’re purposely broken

You forgot the part about the NRA shooting all those people in Vegas

How about we legalize drugs. Criminalize guns. And then wage a war on guns. I am gonna a go all in on gun control because a lot of gun owners are pro drug war. A lot of them say they won't hand over their guns. Fine. Let's send 80k swat raids a year to find these people and put them in cages. Let's see how they like those overzealous cops when they are they the criminal.

cajun that reminded me of a meme I saw earlier. I bet you saw it too:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4944646/ISIS-release-new-video-bragging-Vegas-shooting-REVENGE.html

Islamic State has released a new video bragging that the Las Vegas massacre was revenge for US attacks against their caliphate.

In what appears to be a desperate publicity stunt, the terror group claimed the horrific acts of Stephen Paddock, 64, were down to them, saying they radicalised him months before he shot 59 people dead and injured 527 more on Sunday night.

FBI officials rubbished the claims, saying he had no affiliation to any terrorist organisations, but the Islamic extremists took to their propaganda news agencies to spread the word.
....
The group, which referred to the Las Vegas attacker by a nom de guerre Abu Abdal-Bar al-Ameriki, has increasingly claimed to be behind a number of attacks, only to later be found to have no link to them at all.
