So It's All In One Place

Man that's a lot of high-ceiling pitching to compile in a short time period!!!

Not to mention dealing Kubitza would appear to add fuel to the fire that Moncada will be our 3B of the future.

I'll believe it when i see it on Moncada being a Brave.

But certainly have a ton of young arms in the future.

via Rotoworld:

Fangraphs' Kiley McDaniel reports that the Yankees and Red Sox are the "heavy favorites" to sign Cuban infielder Yoan Moncada.

That's assuming Moncada is cleared by the OFAC before June 15, as both the Yankees and Red Sox can't spend more than $300,000 on any player during the 2015-16 international signing period after exceeding their 2014-15 bonus pools. Moncada, who won't turn 20 until May, is one of the most highly coveted international prospects and is expected to land a contract in the $30-40 million range.

Not sure exactly where to put this, doubt it deserves its own thread:

#Braves remain active on minor league FA market into 2015, signing OF Joe Benson and LHP Leyson Septimo.

Benson is an interesting name. Used to be a really high upside prospect but then busted his hamate bone and flamed out in AA

Former Twins farmhand. A real toolsy guy coming out of high school when the Twins drafted him in 2nd round in 2006. Was a September recall in 2011, but like chop2chip said, injuries have set him back.

LHP Leyson Septimo looks like another lefty with major control issues, maybe we can do better getting him on track than we did with Buckner before him. But either way it's just a small depth move so might as well give him a shot.

BA reports that we've signed LHP Jeremy Benson and SS Isranel Wilson. Further, the Braves are said to be pretty high on Wilson.

Also, the Braves have released: RHP Rafael Rodriguez, C Nathan Hass, 2B Trevor Sprowl, 3B Joe Leonard, OF Alejandro Piloto, OF Juan Puello

I count 9 new guys. I like Camargo, but I still don't see what BA is seeing.

Fried and Winkler won't pitch this year, but we've picked up a ton of young projectible pitching.

I like Camargo, but I still don't see what BA is seeing.

I feel the same on Camargo. He's still pretty young, so they must be projecting his bat to develop a fair amount.

I was surprised to see Jace that high. Really looking forward to seeing what he can do in ATL. 700 OPS and above average defense at 2B and 3B isn't exactly exciting, but that would be a good outcome for him IMO.

Thanks, interesting update. I disagree with dropping Sims from two to three, I'd put Fried behind Sims. I also wouldn't rank Jenkins ahead of Banuelos and Camargo would be lower on my list too.

I agree with you and 50 about Camargo, I just don't see it with him like BA does apparently. Further, I like Jace as far as his defense and hard play goes but I have concerns about his bat. I hope I am wrong and he hits well enough in the Majors because that is the only question I have with him. I am sure he'll do fine on defense.

Yep - now we can be terrible for 3 years but rave about our great injured pitching prospects!!!

We would have only had a chance to be halfway decent for 1 year then terrible for the next 5+ years. Forgive me for thinking the route taken was the best route.

Updated following the Gattis deal.

That's now Miller and (Jace) Peterson likely on the 2015 Opening Day roster, and our new #2, #4, #6, #7, #11, #12, #15, and #17 prospects plus Mallex Smith who arguably should slot ahead of Victor Reyes.

If you're still complaining about the returns Hart got, you apparently don't realize how truly bad our system was 2 months ago.

I was making my own prospect list after the latest deal and the new prospect depth we have is amazing. The group of Fried/Folty/Sims/Jenkins/Sanchez/Banuelos has a crazy amount of upside. If we have a top of the rotation starter going 4 out of 5 nights how much of an offense do we really need? We already have our Chipper/franchise hitter locked up long term. We have our Belliard at SS. Davidson can be our Klesko. After 2016 we can sign Greinke to be our Maddux. Mallex Smith can be our Otis Nixon... hopefully without the Crack addiction. Bello can be our Francisco Cabrera.
