So tell me that MLB isn't fixed

So, name all the other things that have been pre-planned in baseball. All the ironic things that happened. I bet Steve Bartman was planted by Selig down the left field line that night in Chicago. The tie in the 2002 ASG was, too.

You can't honestly sit here and watch what happened in the 9th inning tonight and say it was fate or whatever you want to call it.

Clesrly you are way too hard headed, so I am not going to do this back and forth though.

LOL, I dislike the Yankees and ESPN's slobberfest of them and Jeter as much as the next guy, but the thing is, the guy has gone out and played his ass off for 20 years. He's not the greatest player ever, but he's a HOFer. He embodied the spirit of the game, and if our franchise had a few more guys like him, we might have a couple more titles.

In his final AB at Yankee Stadium, he did what's he's done a lot of times. Orioles didn't pull a bitch move like I'm sure some on here would have and walk him. They went at him, and he won the game.

Couple more questions for you.

What happens if that ball is caught by the second baseman, or the runner is thrown out at home?

It was supposed to rain tonight. Did MLB fix the weather?

Who cares?

I hate the Yanks and not a fan of Jeter, but with time comes perspective, and tonight I sat back and watched the last home game of a legendary winner.

As great of a player that Chipper was, if he had the leadership skills and ability to perform in the moment like Jeter, who knows how things could have turned out differently. Chipper was a much better player but Jeter performed in the clutch, and has had so many hits and plays in pivotal situations, tonight was a microcosm of his career.

I hated the Yanks of that era and some of the things they stood for later in their dynasty, but as a baseball fan it's hard not to appreciate who they had and what they did with the likes of Mo, Bernie, Tino, Pettite, ONeill, etc.

We've heard so much about the "Braves Way" the last few days. Well this organization needed and needs some grinders like Jeter, O'Neill, Cone, etc.

How ****ing stupid are you people?

Orioles comeback to tie it in 9th. Did you see the gopher ball Robertson threw for the game tying home run? It was a lollipop type home run derby pitch. No major league pitcher throws that in a game, ever.

ever had someone come to your house that wouldn't leave?

Jeters number this year were equal to or worse than BJ.
Just go home now---friggin Yankees.
Pack o' drama queens

Even if it was fixed (I don't think it was) what an awesome moment. I mean I couldn't deliver in that moment even if the script was written for me. Essentially in the worst case scenario Jeter is like a great actor who is delivering his greatest written line ever and he delivers it with perfection with millions of folks staring at him. That is impressive.

I won't totally dismiss the idea that the Yankees sandbagged in the top of 9th to get Jeter an extra bat. But I do not believe for even 1 second that the Orioles purposely lost this game for some sort publicity stunt.

Derek Jeter is possibly the most overrated player of modern times. No MVP...no batting titles, and only one Series title after the nucleus of players that started the late 90s dynasty started going away. If he had played on any other other than the Yankees he is only a borderline HOFer. Good player, but a long way from being great not even in Chipper's class. The only stat mark he has that Chipper doesn't is 3000 hits and we all know Chipper's legs failed him or he would have surpassed 3000 with ease. Not saying he wasn't good, just that he wasn't all-world.

On four of the five Hall of Fame measures at Baseball Reference, Jeter is considered a Hall of Famer. Now I suppose you are going to tell me that the Yankees own Baseball Reference.

I tire of media slobbering over just about anyone, but I try to separate that from the person they are slobbering about. I get the argument that Jeter shouldn't have won the Gold Glove (ever), but if that's the case they need to stop over at Nate McLouth's house and repossess his as well. When push comes to shove, folks have to realize that Jeter was a pretty effin' good baseball player who carried himself well during his career.

And Chipper belongs in the Hall of Fame and I'm sure he'll get there.
