Some Red State/Blue State Indicia

It is odd that major corporations and people alike are fleeing these blue utopias.

I don't understand why they are making that choice but they keep making it.

Meanwhile the idiots who remain are stuck in that they can't admit to being wrong so they will keep voting the way they do... And their cities will keep dying.

Remember when the SF mayor admitted that her city had been destroyed? She shoulda just asked bard to reassure her haha

I'm reminded when the third most powerful person in the country had her house broken into, and a tech billionaire was stabbed to death in an expensive apartment parking lot, and progressive.whole foods had to close up shop, and many fortune 100 companies moved to TX, and the homeless rate has soared, and the mayor admitted her city had been destroyed

But nsacpi assures us that bard says they have more teeth so SF is thriving

I don't make the claim that SF is without problems, include some created by bad governance.

But the answer with respect to the health of SF or any other particular place can be found in readily available data. Sorry those data are not singing the song you would like them to. Meanwhile, I hope SF finds solutions to its problems just as much as I hope ruby red America finds solutions to dental insecurity and its own peculiar set of problems.

i see your Walmart closing in Chicago and raise you one slaughter at a sweet sixteen party in Alabama or some dude in Oklahoma slaughtering his entire family

is the murder rate higher in New York City or Oklahoma

The murder rate is higher in Oklahoma than in New York City.

According to the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program, the murder rate in Oklahoma was 7.25 per 100,000 people in 2020. The murder rate in New York City was 4.11 per 100,000 people in 2020.

It is important to note that these are just averages and that the murder rate can vary from city to city within each state.

News flash: San Francisco peaked around 1970. People who have lived there a long time will tell you the nouveau riche of Silicon Valley ruined it.
Having lived in the area for college and the start of my career, most locals I talked to reminisce of 90’s SF (Full House era). Too bad Danny Tanner never ran for office there.

I get a kick out of Philip Dick's novels...both sci fi and non sci fi...many were set in NorCal in the 60s...they depict the awesomeness and weirdness of the place and its people...by the time i got there in 2005 there was just a residue of the magic left...but that residue was pretty cool

My older son lives in SF...he frequents some dive bars and comedy clubs that would be great places to hang out in any era

I don’t drink but would often go with friends to some of these dive bars and they are still fantastic. SF still has an awesome culture as long as you’re not outside a building at any point.

At the risk of sounding like a boomer, I think the internetification of life really hurts places like SF, Portland, Austin, etc. where weirdness is at the heart of its city’s vibe. For one, I think a lot of hobbies (music, gaming, writing, etc) have really transitioned to online. Second, no place is truly unique with how easily trends are exported. I remember as a kid being excited to go visit my cousins in California because I felt like I got a preview of what would be cool in a year when those trends caught on in Utah.

Which states rank lowest on mental health.

According to the 2022 State of Mental Health in America report by Mental Health America, the following states ranked lowest on mental health:

Kansas
Oregon
Arizona
Alabama
Idaho
Texas
Wyoming
Nebraska
Arkansas
West Virginia
These states were ranked based on a number of factors, including the prevalence of mental illness, access to mental health care, and the quality of mental health care. The report found that these states have higher rates of mental illness, lower rates of access to mental health care, and lower quality of mental health care than other states.

There are a number of factors that contribute to the low mental health rankings of these states. Some of these factors include:

Lack of funding for mental health services
Stigma around mental illness
Lack of access to mental health providers
High cost of mental health care
These factors can make it difficult for people in these states to get the mental health care they need. As a result, they are more likely to experience mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.

It is important to note that these are just general trends. There are many people in these states who are mentally healthy, and there are many people in other states who are mentally unhealthy. The mental health of a state is influenced by a variety of factors, including the individual, the community, and the state.

Did you know that homosexuality was once considered a mental illness? Did you know that studies consistently link homosexuality with childhood trauma? It's actually amusing to read some of those studies and see how they try to PC that link.
Sometime during the mud drug concert years of the 60s or 70s it was reclassified as no longer a mental illness. By their political allies.

Of course we've seen a more recent version of the same play with gender dysphoria. They're being more careful with it because they still want the whole "we need to provide mental health care to these people as we mutilate them for affirmation" angle.

I would be curious to know what mental conditions are included as illnesses in your data. I remember one psychologist advocating for psychiatric clearance as part of a permit process for owning a gun. When asked what would disqualify someone as not mentally healthy he said "the desire to own a gun."

Funny how that works. Enjoy your data. Watching you apologize for rampant drug use, outdoor ****ting, violent crime, and moral decay is always satisfying.

Rioting is quite healthy as long as you have all your teeth
