Whos going to investigate them? California politicians?
You are absolving them by simply placing the blame on climate change.
What we know is the state intentionally chose not to clear the forests. Intentionally chose not to fill water reservoirs. Intentionally chose to pay $750k (wtf) to a water chief to promote DEI. Intentionally chose to promote a firefighting staff who admits to not being able to do the job. Intentionally chose to let criminals loose to start new fires (proven) and loot (proven). Intentionally chose to tell insurance companies they can't offer service necessary for the risk.
You, a liberal, should be more angry than me. You should be calling for resignations. Jail time. It is liberals who are suffering. It is poor people who will suffer more with the inflation bailout coming. It is DEI programs that will suffer due to legitimacy crisis because of thos clown show
But your instinct is to defer to climate change, which i suppose is slightly less pathetic than deflecting to Oklahoma dental records
This ain’t a team sport, I don’t give a **** that it was Dems in California. Have the Republican-led House do an investigation for all I care. But I’m also not going to blindly trust that a house burned down in Los Angeles because they tried to divert water to Smelts in Northern California just because a bunch of people on Twitter said so.
And it’s not “blaming” climate change. If anything, the knowledge that it’s the hottest month on record and the land is dangerously dry is *more* of a reason to identify what went wrong in CA and what can be done to protect people next time. That more and more massive wildfires are happening is a fact, and whether or not you think it’s due to carbon emissions, it’s still happening. More money and resources should be going into steps that will mitigate those risks and people who believe in climate change should be all that more focused. I would have thought wildfire prevention was the absolute top priority for public safety in that climate.
My complaints are the scapegoating of certain policies that wouldn’t have made a lick of a difference, the rush to promote unverified claims and the blatant disregard for the observable fact that more forests are burning around the world, not just in California. Everything else is and has been fair game if it’ll help.
