Some Red State/Blue State Indicia

San Francisco real estate consistently made headlines throughout the pandemic. But since January, San Francisco rents have increased by over 17%, according to a national report from Apartment List.

Buying frenzy in Manhattan.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/07/02/manh...g-frenzy-.html

One's a ****hole and the other a cesspool. Yet people continue to pay outrageous prices for the privilege of living in San Francisco and New York. Go figure.

The median resale price for Manhattan apartments hit $999,000 in the second quarter — the highest on record, according to a report from Douglas Elliman and Miller Samuel. Average sale prices rose 12% in the quarter, topping $1.9 million.

The price jumps and shrinking inventory suggest the Manhattan real estate rebound continues to gain momentum, as more families look to trade up to larger apartments and buyers look to take advantage of lower prices and low mortgage rates.

“It’s a sign of the frenzy and intensity of the market,” said Jonathan Miller, CEO of real estate appraisal firm Miller Samuel. “It’s rebounding much faster than most participants expected.”

I guess people haven't figured out all the wonderful places they could be living for much lower prices. Places where freedom reigns. Where the men are missing teeth and don't need no vaccines.

Middle class and poor people being inflated out of an asset market is always something the centralized power brokers would celebrate.

The old lecturing idiot is right on cue.

I'm all for increasing the supply of affordable housing. I'm not one who voted for the guy who promised to keep the undesirables out.

“The ‘suburban housewife’ will be voting for me. They want safety & are thrilled that I ended the long running program where low income housing would invade their neighborhood. Biden would reinstall it, in a bigger form, with Corey Booker in charge! @foxandfriends @MariaBartiromo”

Racist dog whistle for all his racist voters.

I wonder why new york and California have such a homeless problem

Hmmmmmmmmm

I'm kind of curious myself about what Alabama and Arkansas are doing to avoid having a homeless problem. I'm always open to learning from others.

I say build affordable housing for them and don't vote for the guy who promised to keep em out of our neighborhoods.

Instead vote for the government who regulates so much that no new housing can be created.

That's California.

That's New York.

That's housing a normal person can't afford.

The lecturing idiot - who is wrong about literally everything - celebrating the massive asset inflation in the states with rising poverty population.

Maybe you arent too bright on these matters...

California and New York SHOULD change their permitting laws to expand the supply of housing, especially low income housing. And especially the supply of low income housing in desirable school districts.

I'm not the one who voted for the racist who bragged about stopping a modest program that tried to do this.

I voted for the guy who aimed to cut stupid regulations

You care about tweets. I care about policies.

You have been wrong about literally everything. I LOVE it when we disagree

As mentioned... Enjoy the ****hole you helped create.

krgrecw has the more honest take...your dude bragged about terminating a very modest program to increase affordable housing in good school districts
