This is more in line with what I find to be the actual concern with the bill, and what many, many teachers are actually protesting. Most (damn near all) teachers don’t want to delve into the topic of sexual intercourse or their genitalia with young children. It’s the fact that the law can easily be construed in a way that makes any benign conversation about gay people or couples could be in violation of the law, even in the same context that teachers would discuss straight people or couples. If Florida simply passed a bill that banned discussion of sexual topics in these grades for any reason, you wouldn’t see the same backlash, even though it’d have the same “anti-grooming” intent that Republicans claim this bill has. That didn’t happen, though.
Please continue these positions until November. I beg of you.
