Soroka May still be the guy to extend once he gets back on the mound. They only control him through his age 26 season, which will be 2024.
His arb salaries will be pretty low due to the injuries, so an extension giving him something like $10M total for 2023/24, plus 1-2 option years covering 2025/26 might be a great value move for the Braves with limited downside.
Soroka might bite since he’s been so injury prone he might want a nice ~$15M guarantee while still being able to hit the FA market before his age 30 season.
It all obviously hinges on him actually pitching at the MLB level in 2022 or 23 though.
