And "it was a good speech" is just what everyone says when it's their guy/gal. And the other side says how scary or horrible it was. Blah, blah, blah...

Anyway, glad you got some enjoyment out of it.

I prefer to read the speech and avoid all the silly ovations.

I remember when SOTU had meat to it. Like that time Bush 43 told us we,were about to be nuked by Iraq. None of this rah-rah stuff of how well our country is running and how 200+ nations looked to us to lead a war. Against Climate Change !! What kind of war is that. Not going to carpet bomb unarmed citizens ? What a loser

Yeah, both sides do dumb. There are probably only a small handful of politicians in Washington anymore who could give a meaningful speech, minus the circus, the dog-n-pony, the laundry-list, the preening, and the political-never-to-be-kept promises.
