Spring has Sprung

from Keith Law's top farm systems article.

2. Atlanta Braves
The pipeline in Atlanta continues, even though the team has been effectively out of the international prospect market for two years now. That’s thanks to the last fruits of the previous regime’s efforts and several very productive drafts in the time since, including a 2019 draft class that already looks like it’s yielding positive results. They have depth in pitching, even with several graduations of top pitching prospects the past two years, and behind the plate, which is always valuable. They are light in the middle infield, although Braden Shewmake’s emergence as a likely long-term shortstop is a very promising development.

Any guesses to when Hamels will pitch for the Braves?
After his checkup today, looks like April is shot.
My money is late May although it wouldn’t shock me to see him miss all of it as well.
Hopefully we are lucky and he is our only significant pitching injury this season.

My conspiracy theory is that he's not actually hurt. The Braves signed him with the intention of him missing the first couple of months to cut down on his work load.

Shane Greene starting the season on the DL for acute suckitis?

Christian Bethancourt with 2 HRs against us today. Guess he didn’t stick as a pitcher and is going back to catching. And of course he’s got to light us up.
