Hitting is a lot about confidence and if he feels good maybe he will be a lot better this year.
He's likely going to be better. Impossible to be as bad as last year.
The depth is fine. By midseason two of our AAA pitchers will be ready to contribute.

Having to focus on pitching because of the pitchers' arms falling off has taken their focus off hitting.

Everyone has been too busy picketing the FO for lack of pitching depth I heard. The hitters will not stand for this.

Another bad day, there's been many this spring. I can't remember a spring where there was less to get excited about. Seriously, what pleasant surprise(s) have there been?
And "Freddie is gonna rake" or "Julio looks like a stud" type stuff doesn't count. We knew that going in. We came into spring looking for a few more arms and have we found any? Most of the bench candidates have be unimpressive or worse. And the two guys fighting for the 5th starter spot (Hale and Garcia) haven't pitched well enough to earn it and they'r #3 and 4, at least for now.

It has been short of excitement. But then the past three springs have been unusually exciting. Bobby's last year. Chipper's last year. The Upton brothers + Gattis.
I'd say the best news so far has been the apparent progress made by Uggla and BJ in getting more comfortable at the plate. I say apparent. We have to wait until the season is under way to know for sure. But I'm cautiously optimistic about those two.

Julio looked GREAT today! Looked GREAT when I saw him pitch against the Yankees last Sunday. He is ready to have a major season.
